True, builds don't get leaked here. But as soon somewhere one build leaks from wherever it is will it show up here directly unlike BA and other sites like that.
Also the news reporters are taking their information mostly from here.. for example; look at the Windows 8 news posts on Neowin or Winrumors. Most of their information are taken from posts here. So people register here hoping to get the news faster or also known as Beta leak. ;)

To be honest, I registered here too from the news I heard about Windows which came from here. But I lost my interest a bit on checking daily for the latest news. Instead I kept here on the forum to enjoy the community beside all the Windows talk. :)

The new Metro Windows Live concept looks good.

Guys... Lets just end this LEAK LEAK LEAK thing here itself and shift our focus on the actual thing: Windows 8.

@canouna: Are the ages old 16-bit icons still there in the latest builds?

Now, can anyone of us make a list of all the changes which we know(thanks to our amazing canouna ;) ) MS has implemented into Windows 8 ever since the WDP Build 8102?

And let us try to answer such questions as: Why Windows 8? What new stuffs does Windows 8 bring to the table? Why should a Windows 7 user upgrade to Windows 8?

Hey canouna, I know you have all the latest builds and i reckon they are unlocked.. So, can you answer this question: Why should a Windows 7 user upgrade to Windows 8?

These will always be in Windows for times when there is no display driver or safe mode

Now if you are talking about some left over ugly 2000/XP icons I would also like to know the percentage of these still in Windows 8...In Vista there were many and 7 a bit less, here's to hoping even less in 8

You're right... Windows 8 = Windows 7 tweaked + Tiny features + A Metro UI (too cute and too GIRLish) + An online store! But, if its bugs-free, fast & zippy and interesting to use, it will be something worth an upgrade!

Honestly, with Windows 7 being a polished and refined version of Vista, I expected Windows 8 to be something entirely different, a new UI (no aero, no metro - something new from MS), amazing new features, new games, no legacy stuffs(icons etc!).

Gone are the days when we used to say "WOW, THAT'S WINDOWS!" (the time when XP was launched and even when Vista was demoed!)

    Dear Microsoft,

Windows 8 will be the 3rd Windows to feature these:

    Capture.JPG

You can't do that!! What in the hell is your design team doing?? You take 3 years to develop an OS, and what do you give in return(regarding the looks), a START SCREEN, Aero-Lite, that's all?? Are you kidding us?? Damn!!

But is Metro the final interface for desktop users? Or is Microsoft developing a new start menu instead of the start menu in Windows 7? 99% of the desktops have a non-touch display, so when Microsoft use the Metro interface as the new start menu, i think the same 99% of the people will not upgrade to Windows 8.

Microsoft is not developing a new Start Menu.
The new Metro Start Screen can be used on non-touch displays too.

I already upgraded to Windows 8 since WDP. and I don't use Windows 7 anymore.
