Official Microsoft statement on CES today from Microsoft Marketing - Tami Reller Beta 8 download for all End of 02/2012
Windows 8 will not fail with their apps. Majority is using Windows 7 now at home and even they would eventually update to Windows 8 because their PC is getting too crap and buy a new one or just they love to have the newest version. Windows Phone 7 which is lacking apps is totally different with his position, it came as a new product and doesn't got a huge market spot as Windows 7 got right now. Many phone apps are for iOS or Android, why? Because many people use it so they hit on them. Windows 8 will get used a lot, so they will hit their app on there too. Now I think myself that due Windows 8 that the apps amount of Windows Phone 7 will increase since they showed on Build they could easy convert an app by changing a few lines. And pretty sure the distrubing of apps on Windows 8 will be same way as on Windows Phone 7. So don't worry about the apps.
Think its more of showing desktop which isn't interested changed. However the taskbar seems it does, the color is different and aero peak seems bigger in width.
