x64 CPU but no VT-x - what CPU is that? While I know of a few (Intel) CPUs that fit into that category, none of them are of even year-ago vintage; Intel EOL'd the last LGA775 CPU in the category - the Celeron E1500 - last year. VirtualPC/XPMode doesn't require VT-x - you'll just have to run the x32 flavor of the Developer/Consumer Preview.
Actually, he does tell people things. He's told me everything I've ever wanted to know about Windows 8. It really isn't his fault if he doesn't have access to the latest intel, remember he is being given the information from someone, who may not be able to get to him for days. Canouna is not active at Redmond, he isn't a Microsoft employee. I understand why you are angry at him, it's because he has a recent build of Windows 8, and you don't. I know, everybody is angry at Canouna for that, but there isn't much we can do right now, since Microsoft are locking down hard on leaks, if you want Windows 8 before anyone else, then become friends with someone at Microsoft, or a friend of a friend of a friend at Microsoft. You get the idea. He doesn't listen to people he don't like, since they usually nag everybody constantly until they can't live anymore, I'll let you decide who those people are.
Like in every Save File or Open File dialog window. Windows 8 will be a new level of inconsistency...
