So as a conclusion: We still don't know if the final Win8 Beta build has been compiled, correct? We know they are already higher than 8200 and there's a 8220 and 8222 build. 8222 is rumored to be a Beta candidat. Is that the current situation or am I missing something?
Oh no! Damn what's wrong with MS! canouna: Can you please magically give me the Windows 8 Aero in Windows 7? I swear if my Win 7 Aero becomes like Win 8 Aero, I'll skip Windows 8 for sure!
If Windows 8 disappoints, I'll want to cut this rope on Ballmer! [They used Cut The Rope so much that's why!]
As much as I'm dying to get my hands on the Consumer Preview, if the Escrow or Beta Candidate builds are still having quirky issues like hanging on Restart and Shutdown, then I would prefer that they take a few more days and pound away on the issue(s) and get it right. I want to actively run Windows 8 Beta or RC as my primary OS. Plus, I hope Windows 8 is even more successful than Windows 7 and can give Android and/or iOS (iPad) a market-share battle.
Never? Okay - what hardware? I have never had issues shutting down WDP (not with the E3400 CPU that I started shaking it down with, and not with the Q6600 that replaced it; same motherboard [ASUS P5G41M-LX2/GB] - in fact same hardware otherwise). I haven't had a single hardware or software issue so far that I didn't have in Windows 7 x64+SP1 (and didn't have the Skype issue - that quite a few others, for some reason, did have). I haven't had any sleep/hibernate issues, either - which is *real* surprising, as I normally *loathe* using either on a desktop PC.
If Win8 CP is ready and MS don't want release it it's really good move to discourage people to Win8...
There has been a source closer to Microsoft and confirms that the Windows 8 beta will be released on the 26th.
