I don't remember if it did that before or not. You can definitely mouse down to bring up the auto-hidden taskbar, or I guess have it always shown now if you don't auto-hide it.
off topic: i can't reinstall asus all suite 3 usb boost 3.0 , always i try open asussetup.exe it close quickly. only i'd have problem with this programs, another no. any idea? thanks
win +T gives a permanent taskbar or a mouse down which is not permanent. No way around on Start screen
I notice that can be possible when you select 'Show Windows store app in taskbar' at the 'Taskbar and Navigation Properties'.
The not-hiding Taskbar isn't actually a feature or bug i believe If you bring up the Taskbar and click on it, it will stick until you click somewhere outside, but ModernUI has mouseover Scrolling (unlike anything on the desktop) so you can scroll inside the App without the Taskbar closing but when you click somewhere the Taskbar should hide again. Needless to say, the Taskbar only shows up when you activate the Store Apps on Taskbar option.
i notice that there's a new update in my laptop, it comes with security update, internet explorer updates, windows updates and many other, it was published yesterday, so now i downloading it today, maybe this is the real "August Update"
Cortana is an app, it is not a feature that is dependent on the underlying OS, which is why they can move it from Windows Phone so quickly to other platforms like Windows (and Xbox). I don't know what PCbeta was talking about as I don't remember reading it but I can tell you for a fact that builds 98XX have Cortana in them and she is running as an app.
LOL, they made a very slow head-start(as usual) in mobil world, and now try to gain market share in the all-devices field where they have only 14%. Maybe they thought they could do it with win9, like kicking away Netscape when they also made a very slow head-start in the internet field.
Which file should I install first - Windows8.1-KB2990532-x64 or Windows8.1-KB2975719-x64 ? AFAIK, Update 1 contained a ton more updates than what was in the release notes. Just because this update doesn't seem to update all that much doesn't mean it doesn't further improve resource management and performance.
I bet it does! Everything feels snappier than before. I downloaded the 2 files first, but when I visited Windows Update, it downloaded even MORE Windows updates, after which all the sexy snappiness came to light and snappified by snappy-snap (little crocodile). Anyway, how do you know it doesn't update drivers or resource management or whatever else that may improve overall performance and snappiness?
