Uhm,no - first of all, this wasn't Update 2 (and as I said just a couple of posts earlier) - it's been known for a couple of weeks now that instead of one big-ish update 'someday', we're going to be seeing features added in on almost monthly basis. So,I guess the only people that will feel somewhat irked are the sukinsin88's of the forum, that fail to grasp that it's better to get some new stuff as soon as it's ready,as opposed to unnecessarily bundling for release .. someday.
Not sure what you guys are in about, they didn't change jacks**t on the behaviour. You need to enable the "when i sign/close apps go to desktop" option, for it to throw you to the Desktop.
When you enable it, it still throw you to start screen. Only if you enable the option "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen..." it throw you to desktop.
Dunno, everything's behaving as usual on a relatively vanilla 8.1 Pro x64. Perhaps the update reset the flag for that option on a small subset of devices? You do realize that's exactly what Shenj wrote??
this is what I believe as well since mentioned behaviour now was switched exactly the other way around. I checked with several machines and found exactly this now
Oh well,I guess everyone's a winner in the Patch Tuesday Bingo Btw,any of you lot actually getting the new Touchpad options or it's tied just to certain vendors only (since I'm just not seeing it on a couple of recent laptops packing Synaptics touchpads)?
Yes, I think you should. There is nothing to be afraid of as it addresses some of the minutest problems you might be receiving from your system. I admonish people to do the new update for better functionality.
Where is the reference to MANDATORY OPTIONAL in the article, I guess my old eye balls must have missed it? Mandatory and optional are two words that don't go together. Things are one or the other, not both as far as I know. Edited to add example: Getting divorces was OPTIONAL for me, paying alimony was MANDATORY.
Sorry guys for being off topic, but I do have to say, whenever I get really stressed I can always count on going to this thread for a little humor. Don't get me wrong, I have learned a lot of useful info here, it's just of the posts makes me laugh. Keep up the good work, and thanks.
