Nah, Zac, if Brad chose not to talk about it, I won't go further, let's just wait for MS announcement, OK? I really don't see any point in debating while I do respect your sourcings.
It could just be a test feature package. You know how we add the data deduplication feature in win8.x by using some components of the server image? Well, perhaps they add this start menu feature on certain test machines in a similar manner. We don't really know how they do it. All we can do is guess, unless someone leaks an iso we can comb over.
I respect your sourcing's too. Whatever happens. I'm sure the end result will be a happy one for everyone.
I am already finding websites purporting to have W9 beta available for download. Of course there is a catch, you have to fill out an online survey. My advice to anyone coming across such sites, don't do it. Who knows what you are really downloading?
Bump .... None of you guru's have a workaround for the basic flaw that file explorer has no wheel mouse intelligence? Need to look for a 3rd party start menu and file explore . Thunderbird does it with grace, how about you outlook guys? Regards
There have been some botched sites which claimed to have Windows 9 for download some months back. I am not going to download anything that has to do with Windows 9 until the Technical Preview is released on September 30.
Tks arseny, then it's still a assumption that either start menu is hidden, or it is simply not present in the current build 982x, for whatever reason. This was my story: I saw Brad didn't mention anything about start menu but talked about other features(he even saw Cortana "with his own eyeballs"), so asked my friend about it ... "LOL, it's not in the current builds"..."It will be in Preview?" .."Beats me, maybe, don't know now."..."Can I talk about it in forums?" .... "Why not? Every MS people knows about that". OK, leaving for China in about an hour, if there's any post for me, I shall try to reply tonight. Good luck with your "Sept 30" expectation.
Have a nice trip to China. Thank you for wishing me well. I have always have confidence on my Windows release expectations.
Figured. That's what I was saying and had been told. Start Menu is still on track for preview release if anyone was wondering.
are builds of Windows vNext without a start menu also contain same watermark as windows technical preview for enterprise?
If WTP for Enterprises won't have Modern UI that would mean that some Control Panel options and OS functionalities will be ported back form Windows 7 or made from scratch. Or, will Modern UI be implemented so tightly with desktop that it won't matter?
