It fixes something that the previous stack had an issue with. According to abbodi1406 you need at least a 2919355 (with update) image to use this.
Big F'n icons on the start menu and not one that I would ever click on, just awesome. Where is programs? What we use a PC for is to shop, chat with people and get news, get real! All those big icons can be brought up in a web browser (good sites not M$ sites) or by clicking an icon. Hey M$ kids what's important to you is not what engineers and business professionals have been using a pc (main frames) for since 086. Oh it looks like so much fun! Keep it on the phones, I fear that BS will rule over workflow in the end since we want to give the computer illiterate the feeling that they belong. METRO in a start menu YAH! Regards
OT - (kinda) - I think it is a good deal for all that info is shared here and at the Neowin site in what seems to be a peaceful harmonious manner. Thanks all who contribute to making this possible.
I'm glad we will be able to customize the start menu. I have zero use for live tiles, and I'm happy we will be able turn them off. Where is Spider Solitaire? My life won't be complete without it.
am i the only one who thinks the interface is ugly and the windows explorer icon is ugly? aero is solely missing :9 looking at yosemite i feel like microsft has gone backwards by removeing transparency
Windows Explorer icon looks kind of weird.. And what fonts they're using in cmd? And IE11 not IE12? Although I like even flatter design of Windows Explorer.
Those images of Technical Preview are nothing new on what we've speculated here. As for me, this is bringing the metro tiles to desktop start menu. They are now optional features embedded into it. Apart from the builds version and few other things it is not so much different from Windows 8.1 desktop environment. Who said Windows 9 is going to be much different from Windows 8? The metro tiles have been one of the things which differentiate Windows 8 from other versions in the past. For those of use using hardware that has both touch system and desktop environment would still enjoy the benefits of both worlds. I like the way Microsoft has gone around the Windows 9 by listening to the consumers and try to give them what they want. That is how a tech giant should evolve. Does anybody see the Internet Explorer on the Windows 9 Technical Preview is old Update version 11.0.8 while I am using version 11.0.12?
