I stand corrected, Windows 8.1 is more flexible than any other operating systems out there. From the ability to work with most of the hardware has been one of the reasons I see it that way though. I have been able to install Wireless Mac Keyboard in it without issue(even easier than installing it in a Mac system) and it can read many file extensions like EXFTS mainly meant for Mac,etc. Windows might be underrated by many users out there but having use other operating systems for 2 to 3 years I can say it is the most flexible and user-friendly OS out there. Now that Windows 9 Technical Preview is closed to be released we are going to see more and more changes in usability and easy interaction. It will not require any training or education for first users to find their ways around its features. That makes it very unique and it is expected to be more unique in Windows 9. Tomorrow, Monday September 15th, is around the corner and I hope WZor would be right about seeing the Technical Preview leaks even after seeing the Build 9834 comes out before the predicted date. I am expecting much on the press release event on September 30th to be explained on what we are going to see for the so much anticipated OS in online forums and blogs.
If you're referring to their tweet, they didn't promise tomorrow, they said 'may' leak AFTER the 15th
So, there could be a leak at any point after the 15th, but before the 30th? And the 30th is the official stated date for the preview to release?
It's not official but rumored by highly reliable sources. The same sources who have revealed accurately features of Windows vNext before the screenshots appeared.
Are you saying I have to run metro full screen 1.1 to have this functionally? Or will this work on my desktop? A little further explanation would be appreciated. I work in a desktop environment, not because I refuse to use something new and innovation does not scare me, but because to me metro is not a windows environment and I snap to more than a few things. If it is metro you suggest than that is not a workaround here but thanks. Regards
Microsoft left Desktop (and Win32) behind and implemented new app structure in Windows 8. It was modern and actually designed for today's mobile world. People hated it ,they don't want changes. I'm not saying that it was perfect, it lacked some basic functionality because it was a 1.0 product. They could have made it more functional but they had to release it in 2012. They are improving it and I'm looking forward for a 2.0 release. It might fix your problems. And a short answer for your question : yes, it only works in Modern environment. Desktop is a dumb thing from past.
There will be no major updates to 8.1, only incremental ones through through updates. We won't see any features in 8.1. Of course new features will be roll in W9.
That definitely made my day :flowers2: ... and i'm sending this from a dumb desktop though . Modern-UI is a multi-tasking nightmare.
