With, fast approaching, 3500 posts, I sincerely doubt that anyone is reading back more than a couple of pages, if that! The thread could cheerfully be closed, as it has no real value except, apparently, as a battlefield between individual members - totally unrelated to to thread title. Perhaps, leak or otherwise, when Windows whatever arrives, a member could start a new and more informative thread?
Funny. This thread has lacked direction from the start and that did not stop anyone before. (Before I joined I went through all of it. Glad to know I'll never get that time back). In fact, I have for one have tried multiple times to actually discuss serious this topic and no one honestly seems to care. As another mentioned before, this thread is "only comedy" and in that light pretty disappointing. But at least the misinformation has finally stopped. But of course that could only happen once the trustworthy rumors finally received screenshot confirmation. Can we actually discuss as this thread is named? If anyone should be banned it should be the people who are talking bull about things 0% relevant to the topic at hand. (IMHO Comedy at least needs to have some relation to the discussion.) Yes please! Make sure to set some rules that we discuss rumors from trustworthy sources. Thank you! Another thread can be for the highly speculative/ untrustworthy/ people with access to corpnet. This would be one good way to prevent any future conflicts.
How could rules be made to discuss rumors from trustworthy sources? How on earth does one go about that? Take the word of the person who says they have a trustworthy source?? Isn't that the reason for a lot of the BS between some people here? e.g. my "source" said this, "your source is bs" blah blah... OR maybe force the source to prove they are trustworthy? I think speculation and rumor threads should be eliminated completely if it has come to a need for making rules on rumor and sources. Perhaps, just perhaps.. maybe people take rumors and upcoming releases a little too much to heart. I have never seen any gain to speculating about what will come -what someone hopes will come-. Maybe that is what should be done then, keep the journalists on their sites, link to the stories and keep comments focused on the -linked to story- post in the thread. If someone would like to reach the trustworthy status of said journalists above, they might consider starting their own blog and building their accuracy up to the levels of the journalists you mention. I pretty much read the likes of "The National Enquirer", I find most of the alien abduction articles to be quite interesting. Not that I haven't read articles from TW, PT, BS, ZB and MJF of course.
I'm not sure if we came to a consensus or not, but fair enough. Those journalists do have areas for discussion on their respective sites. I am trying to find somewhere where real discussion with minimal trolls actually occurs and frankly it's not easy. It's either super hyperactive with little real substance or too little activity and little follow through. I just thought it might be more orderly to have two threads. That's just my two cents. I'm glad to hear about your interest in alien abductions, the supernatural is my personal favorite for sure.

a little bit clarification here: I actually thinks vb4112 is a valuable source, its rare that an (anonymous) MS employee would talk publicly about not-released infomation. although we should keep in mind that he is not in the core team and may not be able to get some information/bits, so if he says yes, that most likely is true, but if he says no, thats not neccessarily accurate, it just means he doesn't know. actually vb4112's own statements are generally reasonable and conservative, if translated accurately. but some guy took every word out of vb4112's mouth as the oracle from God and the only truth, then use it to dispute other (more) valuable sources, then the situation become ridiculous.
