If there will be any, a Technical Preview is most likely ... the Consumer Prev will follow later . ED: Huih, there's already a Consumer Preview showing up .
thx guys! cant wait for tomorrow but will install the preview on wednesday, my internet connection sucks
Time and venue would be nice to know, but seem to be under NDA. The only reference I've found is on a stuff.co.nz post, which states the presentation will start at "6am October 1st, New Zealand time." That would be 10 am September 30, San Francisco time. Bill Rigby at Reuters reports that the venue will be at "a stylish event space in San Francisco." Additional, verifiable info would be most welcome. I'm writing up a Pregame Guide for InfoWorld.
i hope they release it tomorrow, we all know people dont like windows 8/8.1 because of metro. i wonder if their is going to be alot of traffic so much that the website will crash . i plan on using my colleges network to download the preview and i plan on uploading it to onedrive or mega incase the website goes down. downloading the preview shouldnt be a problem since my colleges network has a very good network backbone
The fact that there is no detailed information on how it works and collates information from the user machines makes me to wonder what kind of data it is going to collect during the real-live monitoring.
My idea of this type of planned input by Microsoft is going to cause more fear over security than the row over the cloud system incorporated in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 the Chinese government refused to accept for routine jobs.
i hope it will be a option to disable during setup, who knows what data their collecting and might even give it to the NSA or even the GCHQ so they can use it on windows 9 users .
You know that Windows, Google and the USA/NSA are only going to make the world a better and safer place *lol* Should have learned that from "Team America World Police"
