Hate to break the news guys but someone should clarify what we have for now: There's no real screenshots of Update2/Threshold on the net for today. But some of them are pretty close to the reality though. There's no real RTM build number posted (yet). The only real bit of the info is that screenshot of the docs painter published on pcportal. Also availability date (August 12) was confirmed long ago and WZ has nothing to do with that info.
People are excited all over the web about Painter's pic of MS document, about "Aug 12 release" ..... guess they didn't realize this paper was meant for partners, not public.
I think the best for MS is to release an sp 2 for windows 7 who support usb 3 better task manager and some other stuff and people dont wait for windows 8.1.1 or windows 9 and who know how they call and i think the desktop funs was happy and keep windows 9 or 8.1.1 for tablet pc
Not going to happen I'm afraid, Microsoft have already communicated that they have no plans to release an SP2 for Windows 7/Server 2008 R2, and mainstream support ends at the start of next year for both products which also means no new code or features will be added. Windows 7 as great an OS is already just over 5 years old now going by it's RTM compile date, and it's been over 3 years since SP1 was officially launched (with it's RTM compile date being 19th November 2010)
