This might help clear things up a little: What you see with msinfo32 ("Hardware Abstration Layer") is just the build number of hal.dll (6.3.9600.17196). What you see when you run dism /? is just the build number of dism.exe (6.3.9600.17031). If you're looking for the build number of Windows, check ntoskrnl.exe. 6.3.9600.17031 = Update 1 (KB2919355) 6.3.9600.17041 = KB2934018 6.3.9600.17085 = KB2955164 You can right-click on ntoskrnl.exe, choose Properties->Details and see the version number there. Or, as somebody else previously posted, enter this cmd line: reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" /v BuildLabEx
I checked the build of the download. it is 6.3.9640.19240 I will be installing it in about a hour after I get one of my spare PC's back together and clean. Will let you all know what it is like and post screen shots. As many as I can.
Yes they sure have. There is an agreement that you have to send back to them. Never had that before and I have tested Windows XP x64, Longhorn (Vista) and Windows 7 pro.
I have already gotten a request to share the ISO. Please don't PM me to share the ISO as I have a large sum of money invested now. I also use my MSDN account quite a bit and need my account. I will share as much info as I can about this ISO, But I will only share it here on MDL. Thanks
Tks maddog0266, 9640 is a really early build, guess it's basically win8 9200, but I think we could still find quite a number of interesting things .... could you post the full build tag first? Tks again.
It is x64 Installing right now. On the install start screen it says Windows 8.1. So I am assuming it is 8.1 update 2. Bummer.
