FaiKee, don't confuse between builds from different branches and different milestones, even if they are a) recompilations of whichever root build to make room for a side branch off the one that gets split (e.g. 7106.0.winmain was actually a recompiled 7076.winmain, i,e. 7106's codebase was older than the followed 7077.0.winmain_win7rc) ; b) recompilations of derivative SKUs like phone, embedded etc. ; c) builds from different fbls, which don't have to be synchronized at all and can follow their own incrementing regardless of current winmain as for winbluephone_rtm there is a link to an archive that includes ntoskrnl.exe in the post (for those who may have misread it), yes, ntoskrnl by itself doesn't say much, but if we mass-list all files' versioninfo, then very most of them have the same build
Yup, I understand about that, actually winphone builds are mostly months behind win client builds, the thing that surprised me was it got a build no. 6.3.9651 (beyond 9622), before this I had thought it not to be possible, and I also thought winphone builds got their own numbering systems.
They have own numbering system as described in the earlier post linked above: the underlying OS is a derivative of Windows, which gets rebuilt (rebuilt as opposed to being recompiled) with phone-specific stuff as described
About this rebuilt(or recompile) thing, I remember zukona made some lengthy explanations in torrents.ru on the win7 builds you mentioned, missed that good chap.
I thought as much. I am only tagging along with the bandwagon, who are bent on compliments for the claim without anything tangible evidence to prove it.
I agree with the idea that ntoskrnl.exe is not a fully reliable way to get the full information on the build. Having said that, I can't seem to find the best possible means of getting all the full information in one place.
doesn't this give all that info? Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
That says it all. I think I am possibly the only one who sees it from that perspective not until you post this comment.
To complete the 'confusion' an updated WIM shows: Code: Version : 6.3.9600 ServicePack Build : 17056 .
From that sense Windows build is relatively based on different component numbers while the version remains the same through out the whole system(6.3.9600). If I am correct 'build' in this regard is largely about compatibility reference.
Would guess BuildLabEx and ServicePack Build from WIM are useful values when matching different states .
As someone that's involved in MS I just got it out-of-the-box like that. No further questions from my side. However, there is one Windows x.2 that's available on MSDN.
and that would be simplified chinese version Code: File: SC_WINDOWS32_144.EXE CRC-32: b665654c MD4: 3cac0396417110588ade6b41d53b71d7 MD5: afd883c7af6e7163daa82c66b1bc58f9 SHA-1: 363c2a9b8caa2cc6798daa80cc9217ef237fdd10 File: SC_WINDOWS32_12.EXE CRC-32: 1f155bc8 MD4: a713f922b6348763434a4529d3086435 MD5: d457da205b7a6a97ee318c4be51e6131 SHA-1: 1d91ac9eb3cbc1f9c409cf891415bb71e8f594f7
LOL, When MS announced "this and that will be available on the next version of Windows"; People spread all over the web "this and that will be on Windows 9" ........
Do you guys see the "renew or upgrade" If you have an account with MSDN the upgrade your account. Then request to join the beta test. Not sure how to take a snap shot of the page. And it is not Windows 9. It is Windows 8.1 update 2 Sorry guys about that.
