Not even wanting to follow this thread anymore due to the multiple times its been derailed for stupid s**t. I also think we need to get a new topic started that's just used for information, not discussion, a megathread that people cant be spamming and flaming on. That's just me, though. I try to come back here and check every day but its just non-sense now and nothing as far as anything new.
You are right, but this thread is advertised as a discussion on future windows products and it is one of the main section in the MDL forums, so naturally people(irrespective of their post numbers or even non-members) come regularly to see if any information(relative to the topic that was mentioned in the thread title) is been posted. But most of this thread is filled with name-calling, making fun of others, trying to prove him/herself right & putting their own personal agenda. And all this coming from the so called 'experienced members'(in terms of 'number of posts', which seems to be the 'yardstick' to measure the worthiness of a post of a member, rather than on it's content). If this thread is in 'Chit Chat' section of this forum, no one even cares what's going on in it, because guests as well as the members who don't post regularly, for various reasons(myself don't post regularly as many of the topics that are discussed in the main sections of this forum are too techy for me & I don't feel I can make any constructive contribution to those threads), visit this forum just to get some quality information, which is generally what you expect from a thread(& from the experienced members participating in it) in MDL forum. But this thread is entirely different, as one of the experienced member 'Murphy78' put out in one of his post #1559 "I don't believe I've seen such an accusatory tone in MDL before"(I was about post at that same time, I've even typed my post, but after seeing Murphy78's post which contains the same thoughts that I wanted to share & that too from an experienced member, I backed-off). That's why people who usually read the information & go away, posting their opinions about this thread in this thread itself. The more amusing thing & irony is that the posts(like raider89's post#1687) are being questioned instead of questioning or reporting the name-calling, mocking posts that are abundant in this thread(agree that raider89 shouldn't use terms like 's**t'). At least he doesn't have thousands of posts to his name, out of which hundreds are just for making fun of others & name calling. Please don't mistake me being pointing you out and(or) any particular person, as I've nothing against any person of this forum(because I rarely ever post anything here). And I'm not even supporting any person either, but this thread just leaving so much bad-impression on this wonderful forum. I know I'm not doing any constructive or useful contribution to this thread by this post of mine & I do know I receive some flak for this, but I couldn't stop myself posting this(I've already stopped myself on 2-3 occasions posting in this thread requesting others to stop flame wars, name-calling, mocking & unnecessary agenda of proving themselves to be right). Any one can verify it if they feel so.
When I started this thread, I knew that infos on future Windows products will be scarce, so decided to put them altogether, and I thought there could probably be a leak of Update2, and some members would start a new thread on it anyway. I found that everytime I post about an info that's contrary to MJF, sign of flamewar would start to emerge, even if I had said "take as rumor" or "take with salt", but I believe people has the right to know the other side of the stories. I remember at one time, @Yen gave me a right to manage my thread on some expected leak, I wonder if I could do that for this thread, because I know the mods just doesn't have the time to do it. - I shall remove all useless meaningless posts. - I accept controversies and arguments with reasoning, if I could edit posts, remove the hostile remarks, so much the better, I'll just leave the reasonings. - I won't ban anybody, even if this power also included, this is a job of the regular mods.
