Here is my observation:

• Windows Millennium was the beta for windows XP.
• Windows Vista was the beta for Windows 7.
• Windows 8 is the beta for Windows 9.

LOL, looking back at these rumors, who started them anyway?

- No new features for Update2(now called Aug Update) - not me, I've said there is a feature pack.
- MS wants to bury win8, Update2(now called Aug Update) will be final - not me, I've said MS has started working on Update3("placeholder").

Now wait for Win8.2("placeholder", code name Threshold) next Spring.

 

Windows Me is the pale copy of Windows 2000 (only difference is kernel and some features).

 

That's very interesting. Please, tell him to get external camera for the good of providing irrefutable evidence to his claims.

Maybe MS guys will just keep W8-1-1 running for five years or so. BTW: Who needs new OS each 6 months anyway?

Update 3/Threshold seems like the same thing.

Threshold would include start menu, plus things like windowed apps, interactive live tiles, etc., these all require some extensive API treatments, so probably a new RTM build, and a preview for people to test and report.

Seems MS has taken an over-dose of name-changing-dope, no idea how Update3 could be named: Spring update, April Update, Q1update, pre-threshold-update, pre-win8.2update, don't-bury-me-update, etc, etc, or like WinBlog says, mini-minor updates spreading over the next months. LOL.

He is too busy changing the "Update 2" labels to "August Update" in his standalone pack that well be uploaded to magnet later.

You are possibly asking for the person's disagreement on that. I think that is very funny. At least, we finally know through the Microsoft blog there is nothing like the overly extol Windows 8.1 Update 2 .

 

Lol... 'Knowing' is not about IQ, I guess. Stephen Hawkins is an astrophysicists per se and he may not know a tad about Windows operating system users ratio to non-users.
