Just forget Windows 8/8.1, because Microsoft understood it was just a test product on the way to a „bright future“. I sure, everybody dissatisfied by this, but soon after they‘ll test Windows 9, these people will forget Windows 8 and just think of it as of one of life‘s misunderstandings. Of course, Microsoft will be releasing further updates to Windows 8.1, but it will be just regular cumulative-security patches. No new features will be added, and a release of Update 3 for Windows 8.1 won‘t have any significance.
Maybe I could add a little bit: MS has actually prepared all the "win8.1 with Aug Release"ISO's, - Don't know if they would release on MSDN, some rumor says 15th, it's believe it or nots. - I heard win8 upgrade(thru Store) might go directly to win8.1 with Aug Release, if true, then abbodi & co. could expect some busy days ahead in their "hi-jack business". Yeah, when he had zukona in his team, now is "forget about it", LOL. Tks @SuperUser, "He knows nothing, just forget about it", LOL.
i am going to be honest no one should ever upgrade. it should always be a fresh install from the iso. upgrades cause issue and driver corruption which leads to the crying of millions of users saying windows 8 and 8.1 are broken lol
Does that mean the elusive 'WZor' is telling us he has tested Windows 9? Regarding the August Update, it has already be announnced on Microsoft blog it is going to be general update released through Windows update. They will include a fix for touch-pad improvement, the Miracast and Sharepoint Online related issues. If you he is telling us to expect update 3 and without any affirmative reason before the release of Windows 9 possibly he is telling us something we don't know about. Meanwhile, I have my opinion which differ from his looking at what Microsoft has presented in the past few days. Is WZor a Microsoft insider?
no need i go by years of experience which is better then a sticky. i do pc repair for a living and when i have 200 people coming to me after they updated to windows 8 from 7 they had tons of issues and drivers where broken causing major wifi and gpu issues and even cpu over heating and once i did a full wipe and fresh install all the issues where gone so i said to to them never do a windows upgrade and no issues since then. so fresh is better then upgrading anyday any pc user knows this it's common knowledge
It may sound like he is exaggerating but it doesn't nullify the fact he has some valid point in his post. I haven't done any Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgrade before because the two systems I have are pre-installed Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. I have seen people who reported having issues with drivers and have some lag in performance after upgrade.
why unlikely? In one sector I work at, I have 43 people screwing up systems and pretending they are computer literate. That is 1 of 5 sectors I "patrol" lol
I never upgrade for two reasons. 1. the transition may cause instability. 2. you have to use the clean disk utility to remove any old previous OS's which takes a while. Always Reformat.
Most of those could be explained by improper drivers and poor airflow. These things are not MS's fault with the upgrade process.
I didn't say 200 in a day over a years time and it is possible seeing how dumb the world is and what about this do we take this as truth blogs. windows. com/bloggingwindows/2014/08/05/august-updates-for-windows-8-1-and-windows-server-2012-r2/
No and no. Nothing in WZor's post indicates he had his hands on Windows 9 build. I guess, our friend just tells us what he has heard from others, maybe even M$ employees. Talking about updates for Win 8.1, rumors that Microsoft will release 3 of them started to emerge about same time as they released 8.1. From that time we heard about Update 1 bringing improvements for mouse & keyboard users, Update 2 bringing back Start Menu and Update 3 bringing other improvements. Update 1 brought us what was promised, but from then Microsoft changed it plans and Update 2 is much smaller update compared to Update 1 - no Start Menu and those changes you mentioned will be hardly noticed by regular users. So, if Update 3 will follow same guidelines as Update 2, it also won't include significant improvements. Moreover, WinBeta and Neowin has reported this week about M$ working on Update 3, FaiKee mentioned this update many times too. Looking from this perspective, I would say WZor's info is inline with info from other sources, so if Microsoft won't change their minds, we'll see Update 3 in Spring of 2015.
Not the remotest chance. He was still thinking I was talking about upgrading and then talked about some "200 people story", I am not wasting my time with him. Update3 is just a generalized term, about those rumored "Threshold features" or even people said them to be "win9 features" - don't be surprised if on a Patch Tue you find them offered as a optional WU in your win8.1.
Thank you very much for explaining better what WZor meant in his post. However, touchpad in ultrabooks has functionally performed below expectations. I think I am the only person who has experienced the incessant drag-problem in using it in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Now that the patch is coming soon I would be among those who would benefit from its help with all enthusiasm. The update for the touchpad comes at the right time.
On one hand, there should be tutorials provided by Microsoft on upgrade and to fix issues which arise along the process. On the other, following sets of rule cannot altogether eliminate every error in any operating system though.
Okay. I have seen the name in so many online forums and blogs. Indeed, the name rings bell when it comes to Windows leak. I have been very curious about who the person really is. He is a very famous individual in that area of leaking information on Windows. And, even Google search presents load of information on leaks associated with his efforts.
