Windows 7's start menu seems to work fine Aero snap isn't too kind either on either OS though, but since I only use Chrome mainly, I mainly adjust it to close-to full-screen on one of my monitors without issue. Could do the same on 8 though, so no real argument there. I game most of the time. I can switch between modes easily, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be pretty annoying doing so every single time (my screens go blank for like 3 seconds, and that kind of downtime annoys me greatly lol). Been on Windows 7 for a week now after not using it since Win8 came out, and I haven't had to switch out of eyefinity mode at all (even for general desktop usage; I just take note to never maximize windows, not that I have to maximize em anyway)... I'm not against Windows 8 though; used it since launch (and even before that) primarily. Those two things I mentioned though are basically my only complaints about it. I plan on switching to 8.1 primarily once it leaks, but I'll just have to deal with being annoyed by the start screen I guess (or just do the placeholder apps and never go into App List) Hmm, I tried opening the .wim itself with 9.2.2 beta (x64) and it didn't work; didn't think about trying a different version or architecture though.
Just need someone to get to this stage now (W8.1 Pro installed and activated) and then try "add feature" and enter a WMC upgrade key so we can nick the Store folder to build a 8.1 WMC ISO that you can install with only the upgrade WMC key needed. (thats if entering the upgrade key works and activates)
Damn kinda sucks. Oh well, once we get a working activated Windows 8.1 Pro things should be easy just need to find where activation is stored (or at least where it says it was activated in past) and chuck that into the WMC ISO. Worst case situation will be a different ISO needed per PC and i am sure someone could make a simple patch to help others with that who already have an activated 8.1 Pro. I am still wondering if he checking each ISO 1 by 1 then releaseing 1 by 1 or if he is checking them all then releasing them all separate or even checking and releasing all at once in 1 huge torrent that you just select what you want out of.
I already made a Windows 8.1 WMC install using the Windows 8 method. Haven't activated since it's based on the corrupted WIM but I'm testing it.
Tried MTK v2.4.8 on that Enterprise build. It starts and detects the OS properly, but when trying to activate, it seems to crash with the Emulator.
Most likely the 2.0 file is current install license (that would be the WMC one) and in the normal folder (lets call this 1.0 for now) would be the classic PRO license? Speculating ofc we really need a activated 8.1 install to test things i guess we be waiting a few more days It will be something simple though can't see microsoft blocking people out of making unattended ISO's we have been making iso's for years that automatically install product keys and activate. And we know you can slip windows updates and features in and out of the ISO's already.
Stupid question guys... Need help. I need a .NET 4.0 Application to test on Windows 8.1 9600 so I can see if I fixed the corrupted WIM.
That was exactly the case, but I didn't try it on the chinese build as well. For all I know it could give the exact same error. There were other problems with the frankenbuild such as not being able to import registry settings and personalization window being blank. It's hard to discern what is the fault of what problems when a build is so unstable.
I think josh cell software's advanced tokens manager, as well as microsoft toolkit from CODYQX4 both use net4. I could be wrong on the ATM, but it was giving me some net4 error on the corrupt wim
