I'm also having problems creating a bootable flash drive with MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.1.RTM.X64.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT. I verified the MD5 which is correct\matches. I do not have a problem with the x86 file MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.1.RTM.X86.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT. Anyone else try to create a bootable USB drive with the x64 ISO? I used the latest Rufus software 1.3.4. Downloaded the x64 file twice already. Thanks
I made a bootable flash drive with the x64 RTM. Just opened the ISO with explorer and copied everything to the flash drive, then booted off it.
if it really activated and hasn't gone away. reboot? that might help it, otherwise you probably are not activated
Just follow these instructions using Rufus to create the correct type of bootable USB drive. You have to select the right options for your particular set-up. For example I use UEFI and GPT so I had to select GPT for UEFI. eightforums.com/tutorials/15458-uefi-bootable-usb-flash-drive-create-windows.html add http and www for the link
