Nope. Completely different editions. On Enterprise ISO there´s only Enterprise index, whereas the Retail ISO holds Core and Pro.

i can confirm attempting to upgrade from a legit 8.0 pro install does not work. wait till oct i guess

Upgrade to 8.1 worked perfectly with my upgrade key and WMC key.

I am from india, and I tried to phone activation with indian Microsoft number...and its fails every time....a girl says-"sorry its not a valid product" or something like that when I gave her my Installation ID...tell me what can I do now

 

Don't Use Indian MS Number. Select Contry UK or US And Try Call Over SkyPE.

I tried to extract the ISO because I can't find my thumb drive and upgrade my 8.0 install. I use the default key, reboot install completes, reboots again but then it just hangs on windows loading screen. reset computer a few times and it reverts back to 8.0


Any ideas?

 

just some mins before, I call us ms number with Skype and i gave him installation id but not work same thing happened again!!

 

Can I stay on my Windows 8 VL forever and just keep perpetually activating it, or will MS shove the update to 8.1 down my throat somehow? How can I avoid the update, if possible? (At least until things are settled down)

You will need a key that you bought or a WMC key from the offer last year. Now WMC costs 10$.

The keys can be found on the internet are mostly blocked...so no chance.

In case you have no such key you´ll have to wait till another method appears.
