I think you are right, i get that wrong my bad. and what about right click thing ? maybe some registry could bring it back or something ?
Soon after win8 released and some updates released, peolpe found that the delta had jumped, it's because QFE actually compiles the whole build with a increment of delta, then made the updates out of these new builds. Think about it, now that win8.1RTM had sign-off, the gold-plated DVD mother disc is used for producing DVD's, and OEM's are making pre-installed machines, all with 9600.16384, but on Oct. 18 GA, the MSDN download is another edition, reasonable? This AT&T appeared in windows blog sometime ago, I guess the metro ad-hoc is not ready yet.
And the right-click option is still there - what's new is that extra layer of middle-management called the Network and Sharing Center. (If you share printers or other devices, Network and Sharing is where that gets dealt with. NSC was added in Windows 7.) I'm not on a touch-screen PC, either - I'm at my desktop.
I use right-click even today - who lost it? (I use it to go back and check my wireless USB stick to make sure it works when I have both it AND my desktop wired connection (to the same router) running.) If you are having right-click issues there, then something else is busted. (My current setup is an *upgrade install* - testing out MDLer murphy78's 5in1 x64 8.1 AIO bare-metal, not in a VM. Right-click works the same as it did in 7, or 8. Upgraded from 8 ProWMC to 8.1 ProWMC.)
Broadband tethering only works for mobile devices with a mobile broadband connection such as 3G or 4G, stuff like that.
No, that is not tethering, it is ad-hoc in windows 8.1, it's juust like the ad-hoc in win7 desktop, only this time it's in metro.
I think you are mis-understanding the broadband tethering. It's for mobile devices only to share their mobile broadband. You can already share normal connections with people using the network connection properties.
Is it normal and common thing that till official release of 8.1 the Music and Video apps are "offline" in 8.1 RTM? I can't log in to my Xbox music account at all - no such option in Music App.
Ahh I see. This must be why garbellano was all adamant as well. I believe ad-hoc networking and broadband tethering are two different things. I have figured out how to enable your wifi card to act as a wifi hotspot. I'll make a link for the win8 stuff soon in a different thread as it's unrelated to rtm stuff.
I'm pretty sure WZOR just posted the answer to all this discussion about the RTM getting recompiled or not, but I don't understand a word of it! Even using Google translate
basically what we all know already, MS could change the final bits come GA, but unless serious all will get through Win update. The fact that MS has started sending out KMS host and MAK keys for 8.1 and Srv2012 pretty much tells me that at least the activation part shouldn't change(as far as keys go) or they would need to send out new ones over the new ones just coming out now.
