... all single language versions are put out. Cannot imagine that they redo it because of some changes :D
all additional fixes if any ... lol ... will go through the update channel. period

MS is activating retail keys with this release, any updates will be from WU. I seriously doubt MS would activate retail keys from a non RTM release.

LOL, WZOR is just a moron(quoting canouna aka NTMartha), he had the resources to get windows builds but understands little about windows development system, what he tried to explain what just BS. :rofl6:

btw, I believe there are quite a number of guys who supports the idea that the current RTM is not the official version, and MSDN release on oct 18 would be another edition, why not start another thread on it so I could ignor it completely ? tks! :D

as long as they leave the activation and key setup alone now, I don't care if the rest of the OCT release changes. Many of us are starting to get our keys rolled out from vlsc so I don't see a lot changing on that front. Well, hope not anyway lol

LOL, it won't happen, if the MSDN Oct 18 release is slip-streamed with hotfixes, it means MS is putting in a mandatory windows update to RTM, MS just doesn't do that. :D

It will be the same build. But from the Public channel, as opposed to Campus. I explained all of that last year (and seems that everybody forgot), but the source forum was closed. Yet still that info got reposted in some form right here.

    Period. Dispute closed. FaiKee,
please add this to FAQs so that people will stop the flood about the subject.

I have come to the conclusion that Windows 8.1 is an abomination, in my opinion it makes Windows 8 seem like heaven

    * Plus Windows 8.1 now tracks items you search on your own computer and then reports it to Bing for advertisers (whatever happened to Personal in computers)
    * Windows 8.1 doesn't support 1/2 my software (the same software I use on windows 8, whats up with that - even in compatiblity mode)
    * I also think it is far more difficult to manage Windows 8.1, why not make apps asks on install where you want it.. Start menu, Taskbar, Desktop Icon (so easy)
    * the App Store got even more cluttered and now you can only scan at 2 rows at a time
    * and why make the updating of apps in the background, I want to know when my apps change and let me choose when to install
    * they removed WEI Windows Experience Index because the Microsoft Surface would only score 5. something, they didn't want people to know
    * I personally think the new displays are hideous
    * the start button is a joke (enough said) ... I still don't see how removal of the start menu is progress (let people have choices)

For these as starter reasons, I see no reason even to bother with Windows 8.1. this version may never even make it to the stage, I wouldn't waste your time.

After Thought: I have my doubts about Windows 8 and about Microsoft itself, it as though they have almost lost total direction Side note It took me Until June to get the right Pug in's for mce to look and feel right on Win 8

This is configured when you install windows. Probably you only click NEXT, NEXT w/out read anything

Is this a windows fault? NO...

This is a problem for the softwares. Only tiles on star menu aren't created by default

In the OOBE you configure this, i recomend you READ before click next on every screen.
    WEI is useless

Ever wonder why Ballmer shipped out before SHIK hits the fan! LOL!
Ddin't want the smell of all this FAILED SHIK of an OS on him. Really
smart move as of the moment but I don't know how long before the
masses that has unfortunately paid for this SHIK with their hard-earned
money comes knocking and breaking down MS door. Yes you read it
right the "Paying Masses" (i'm not saying that this term does not
apply to most members ere in MDL).

Where is the setting to change the length of time before the lockscreen slideshow starts ?

In the preview it was on the same window as choosing the settings for the lockscreen, but can't seem to find it any more

Under Lock Screen settings, I don't have anything to enable the lockscreen, only to enable the slideshow, and then nothing for length of time to wait
