If RTM leaks which i hope it will, will we able to use the *.iso for an "update" (like we will be able to do from store on oct 16th?) or a fresh install would be compulsory. Win8 from iso did give option to keep files, apps & settings
I think it has been said already, but OEM's will get updates that they can apply to machines. The public will be able to download these updates a few days before general release. So i assume updates will be getting sent out by microsoft just not via the windows update (not until a few days before release) So a reinstall won't be needed but your have a few updates to install some point down the line. (Nothing new here, i have always had stuff i can download via windows updates after RTM install)
Let me translate: WIN 8/1 RTM SIGN-OFF END 21/08/2013 Partners will have it already on 24/08/2013 So it is how it is: the RTM release is the following — 9600.16384.130821-1623 It's no use to leak an internal build, since it's going to have another hash than what is going to appear on MSDN and others anyway. And everyone else will also get it, especially the people who use Windows 8. So now, about the Steve Ballmer leaving the company. I told you about this already in 2011! But no one believed. Steve left because of the Windows 8 failutre. Soon, Microsoft will be divided roughly onto many companies, Server system manufacture would be separated from their desktop counterparts, office lab will also be divided. Windows RT will be merged with Windows Phone into one entire OS. Meanwhile, at September 1st an internal desktop concept build will be available, let's say Windows 10. This will be a fully "cloud" OS (maybe you could even control it with your eyes )... Windows 9 on the other hand would be the OS in its traditional form, the one we are all used it. And it will be modular, the Aero interface will come back (but not in the same form). Windows 9 will be released in a year! More details arrive in September.
As long as the files have the same build dates it should be fine. I noticed no difference in any of WZT's leaks of 8.0 and the msdn iso except obviously the hash was different and the size/name of the iso was off.
So would i be correct in saying the reason the hash would be different is due to the new update / RTM method they are using. Meaning the hash will change only because of updated getting streamlined into the ISO. Since you can install these updated anyway via Windows Update at the end it won't matter if you installed via this leaked internal ISO or the MSDN/Retail one you would achieve the same results in the end. The only difference would be you have installed all the current up to date updates along with windows with the MSDN/Retail ISO (do not downloading them via windows update as they are included in the ISO hence different has as its a different ISO technically.). Whatever way you go around it you should end up with the same system right?
So...Now we're back to possibly no leaks at all. Edit: I was stuck on the previous page for some reason and didn't see the posts on this page.
