does Virtual CloneDrive emulate safedisc or securom protection? if it does i might consider switching over.
i wish DT Pro Advanced wasn't so expensive for a yearly license... i would buy it if it was 50% cheaper
it seems like Virtual CloneDrive do not have support for mds/mdf files. i just tried using it. correct me if i am wrong.
daemon tools sucks! if you really know something, you know that daemon tools have rootkits, just check with any antirootkit in your system and you see the "gift" for your system from daemon tools. you can choice between poweriso, and others goods software that not includes rootkits.
i read somewhere that the rootkit install by daemon tools and alcohol 120% are harmless and they are there just to trick windows into thinking its a physical drive. not sure how true it is though. i have been using daemon-tools or alcohol 120% for quite a long time and so far it did not do anything harmful to my system. and i think these 2 are recommended for loading game images too. not sure about other programs.
yes i know that...but how i know if is true?...and why anothers like power ISo don't need do that and run fine anyway?.
Stop with the conspiracy theories - it has been proven by disassembling the code part of the driver that it doesn't install any 'bad' rootkits. It's a low-level driver, that's all. DT Lite installs a toolbar (hate them), but you have a choice at start if you want to install it or not. Oh and BTW - VCD is also depending on a low level driver (ElbyCDIO). And poweriso and other 'standard' virtual drive software do not use such techniques because they don't emulate securom or safedisc.
