I tend to use the current meaning of words...perhaps you're fond of anachronisms MS would not only commercially destroy themselves but would be exposed to crippling lawsuits if they were engaged in the nefarious practices that some accuse them of. Critical aspects of the right to privacy cannot be signed away in a contract; such a contract would be deemed unenforceable. No one is contending that NO DATA is been collected: the issue is for what purpose and can it be deliberately used to place users in legal jeopardy. Since some persons are doggedly determined to be frightened out of their wits, there's hardly anything more that can be said to staunch the contagion.
Technically they are not spying on you because they have told you in their many hidden agreements that you will probably never see or read that they are recording everything you do, see or even say (Thanks, Cortana!) even your bank account info, passwords, sites you visit and so on, EVERYTHING!. And jacka$$e$ like Ed Bott at ZDNet and other who believe its not bad are welcome to the rest of their recorded lives.
If any physician is using win 10 as a office OS, then they have violated federal law and jeopardised patients rights to privacy. Try and stick with facts, you know nothing of what MS does with data or who they allow to see it. Save your speculation for checkers. MS has already handed data over to NSA in the past.
Basically it is like this: Microsoft is not spying on anyone. They never have. The people who believe Microsoft is spying on them will never change their minds even when presented with irrefutable evidence, because irrefutable evidence is, in and of itself, a lie to them. There will be people who believe in the MS spies, and the people who live in reality, and no one will convince the spy theorists to return to reality. It can't be done. They live in their own little paranoid world, and revel in it. Others, like myself, believe in the facts. We investigate, and arrive at conclusions, and do not delve into the conspiracies of the judgement-before-investigators.
And how can someone get the truth when dealing with human affairs. Humans can easily or difficultly hide evidence for anyone seeking for the truth. Is not like when researching a natural phenomenon which is not hiding anything, it has no intelligence to do so.
I would really like to see the "irrefutable evidence" that dhjohns uses in making the above declaration. Please present such evidence.
