This happened on my PC a year ago. Then I solved it by downloading a fresh ISO and tweaking it according to Multi-OEM/Retail Project. Done copying $oem$ and others as instructed. I never had genuine message and never needed DAZ Loader again. Then I installed the same Windows 7 for some of my friends(all of which are OEM(branded) laptops), almost all of them got genuine message after 1-2 weeks. For some reason it happens after a while. Questions: 1- Why does it work on my PC but not others? From Readme of Multi-OEM/Retail Project: "By default, OEM machines with a OEM DM key in the bios will disable oobe.cmd and setupcomplete.cmd files, so in order to bypass this issue end user's must use a PID.txt file and save it within sources folder of the iso." Could this be the problem? If so, why not a problem for me? 2- How does genuine message appear? Does it need connection to internet? Or is it some local authentication problem? 3- Why does the message appear so late like after 1-2 weeks instead of the first day? 4- Is it possible to prepare a bulletproof installation CD which won't ever show "geniune problem" on any computer? @mxman2k @Enthousiast
MRP will only work if a SLIC table exists in BIOS, all others will need the SLIC Emulation that comes with Daz' Loader.
He said that the activatuon worked for 1 week so that means that the machines have a valid slic otherwise the activation wouldn't have succeed using MRP project.
Don't forget that Win 7 has Initial Installation Grace (normally 30 days from the Install date). Incorporation of Daz Loader might help .
That might be it, but I doubt 30 days have passed since the installations. I hope we'll figure it out, thanks
To answer the 2nd question, no the activation does not need internet, the activation is done if all slic, certificate and key match, if it had been bios key, you would have needed the internet so that the activation can be done.
MRP creates a log that shows what is done by it (it's located at the root of the Windows drive). It will show if a SLIC table was found. Only in that case it inserts the matching key and cert needed for activation. If no SLIC exists it won't do anything regarding activation at all. EDIT: Sometimes it can be that an Online Validation is needed.
NOT SAYING it's bad but Multi-OEM/Retail Project leaves Windows 7 with only 3 days of trial instead of 30 if it can't activates due to the lack of SLIC table in BIOS.
Never realized this . Then a rearm will help: Code: cscript %windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs /rearm net stop sppsvc net start sppsvc The net options spare the reboot.
The MRP log and the QT has all info in a simple to understand layout for most of the questions, specially when the MRP files are used
The OP used MRP, so the first thing is to post the MRP log file, it will tell what MRP found and could or could not achieve, next we can always do an in-depth investigation.
The 3rd question he asked in the first post is the real question, it's really strange the activation has failed 2 weaks after it has succeeded the first day, so logically it means that he has a valid slic otherwise the activation would have failed in the first try using MRP project so i am really curious of what @mxman2k thinks of that situation.
here's what he said : i conclude that the activation succeeded the first day then gone 2 weaks later.
