I faced personally many cases where the activation went lost after the VGA/Network/Storage drivers was updated. This speaking about win7/8.1.

W10 seem more forgiving, but why to risk?

Thanks for the answers to my questions. I'm going to generate tickets before and after drivers update.

I am having a problem in activating one of my computers and I need guidance from experienced members here.

I have previously installed and activated windows 10 on my two laptops following the clean install method mentioned on this forum. The problem I am facing is with this 3rd desktop PC. It is an HP 6300 sff. It has a 25 characters key in its BIOS MSDM (I assume it is a win8pro key because the windows sticker on the casing is dark blue and it has another sticker saying "Win 8 pro downgraded to win 7 pro". When I received this PC it had no OS therefore I installed Win 7 on it and activated it using DAZ loader. Then followed the exact same procedure for Win 10 clean install and activation as I did with my laptops but this time it is giving me activation error 0xC004C003.

I also tried to install Win 8.1 on this PC hoping to get activated because of the OEM key present in BIOS but there again it gives me same error.

Can anyone guide me why I am getting this error on this PC and how to work around this error to get a genuine working windows 10?

So I've finally got around to trying this way instead of doing the upgrade. If anyone has read enough of My posts they know that even though I'm not very smart, I am really lazy  Yea, even too lazy to read all the posts in this thread to see if someone had done this before.

The only PC in the House that didn't have the DE for Win 10 is My Wife's desktop which I don't have any plans on upgrading. HP MOBO with a Athlon 2x4 650 and a Gigabyte 5450c 512MB GPU running Win 7 Ultimate. My scrap parts built torrent box also has a HP MOBO with the Athlon 630 No discrete card and stays mostly on a Win 8.1 clone of My laptop. But I also have a spare HDD with DE activated Win 10 Pro. Hmm

So I put the Win 10 HDD in Wifey's Rig after getting the Genuine Ticket following the instructions in the OP and it activated without any problems :)

    Hi all
    a quick question
I wish to upgrade a laptop today using this method which I have used successfully many times before.
However the laptop in question is windows 8.1 single language
Will I be able to update ok using the standard windows 10 home iso ? In other words will it activate using the genuine ticket created from single language version or do I need a different W10 version?
Ideally I wish to make this english as currently it was from malaysia and because it is single language it is not letting me change the language.
    Thanks guys

Please do not go on assumption they will grant extension, upgrade now, then go back to whatever OS you prefer, if MS Does not extend, then guess what:confused:

NO. The 4 day gap is no mistake it's a money grab.

Windows 10 is not stable. It's a ticking time bomb. One only need to review their "Event Viewer" to see how many problems slowly and silently build up until you actually see problems unfold. A full upgraded version of Windows Vista (7 and 8 too) is more stable than Windows 10.

Microsoft knows a lot of people were waiting for the Anniversary Update because they knew a lot of folks did not want to be beta testing or feel as though they were still testing unstable software.

The small 4 day difference between the last day for free upgrades (July 29) and the 1st day this presumably stable release (August 2) is not a coincidence. It's a money grab.

My advise is to wait for 2017 ;)

@GOD666 nope dude, windows 10 is very stable at least with LTSB x64 & 8GB RAM run fine no problems and about event viewer is simply forget it don't waste your time with it is my opinion right

I'll be surprised if MS has made a decision at this point. If they're serious about their platform, it should remain a free upgrade.

I don't care about licenses as long as the OS works without restrictions :D
