Ok, so basically they achieve the same end result, but this method is faster/cleaner? If I go this route, do I need to do a 2nd clean install to remove any trace of lets say w7 loader?

    @Yen
Took gatherosstate exe from 10240, created genuine ticket on win 7 professional (daz activated)
Clean installed win 10 pro 1709, copied ticket to program data folder, rebooted.
    Connected to net and activated.
    Working as of today.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the input. I rechecked the OP, sorry for the useless questions. Just two more stupid questions and I'm done. :) Where do I get the gatherosstate.exe from your downloaded Windows 10 10240?

Also, I have an nvme ssd, will this be a problem for installing W7 and getting all the drivers? I read a post about this in here and they suggested a slightly different method for nvme ssd. I can paste the link if you need it.

    Thx.

First, you can use any gatherosstate.exe from any windows 10 iso.

If win 7 can't be installed on the system because of lack of support for 7 you could install win 8.1, activate by KMS and do a real upgrade to win 10586 aka 1511 and next you can clean install (or upgrade to) the current build.

For win 7 on nVME you probably need to integrate these nVME updates for 7: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-win7-distribution.45005/page-55#post-1341615
    + the nVME drivers.

Hy guys! So i tried with windows 7, it didn't work, I needed the updates, I searched the method for installing them but it seems very complicated, so I tried a tool from gygabyte but it only partially works, it gives me error 0x080300024. I'll try this one more time, but since it doesn't seem to work with windows 7, I would like to try with windows 8. Can this work if I use microsoft toolkit from cody?

What you are trying to do has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

For a real upgrade you need to be online when you start the upgrade as well as when the upgrade will go to first logon.

It will work for Home (+N) and Pro (+N).

Install Windows 8.1 (Home or Pro)
Activate with KMS (MTK or KMSpico or KMS_VL_ALL)
Update to Windows 10 (Version 1511 Build 10586)
Ensure connected to Internet to get HWID
    Update / install Windows 10 (Version 1703 Build 15063)

So shouldn't I install this instead of 1703? I can use the one that I get with the tool from microsoft, right?

To establish the HWID from a 8.1 KMS activated install, you HAVE to upgrade to 10586 aka 1511 first.

Hi, I asked this question in the past but never got an answer now that December 2017 is ending maybe someone can answer this question.:)
I have activated few computers using the windows 7 +DAZ + gatherosstate and it all went fine. I even was able to activate windows 10 under VMware workstation, but it just doesn't work under virtualbox. Can anyone assist on how to do it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Beez

You will probably neen to add slic 2.1 then install oem:slp key and certificate https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...lbox-update-slp-slic.3957/page-19#post-632067

Or could he just use a VM BIOS rom file with slic added, i saw @Tito replying to my remark about VMWare being able to work with them, he said it also works with virtual box. the loader then should only add the cert + oem:slp key.
