It's really sad to see this website go. I was once one of the mods there and it was a great experience for somebody young and learning about the web. The forums were great and well maintained, and the admins were smart and pretty much always acted professionally. Sadly my life went in a bit of a bad direction with the last decade financial crisis and I pretty much had to say goodbye to anything outside working, hence I abandoned the mod "job", which I always felt really bad about, but in the end, it was an unpaid time-consuming hobby and I needed money. Anyway, the idea is that the forum admins were always capable and skilled (hey there Lite), and staff always incredibly helpful (hey Jalaffa). While I completely lost the connection to them years ago, I am sure they would have fixed this way faster if possible. Which leads me to believe there are other issues with the website that are more complicated to solve and there might be even a certain lack of interest - keep in mind, these people ran this site for more than a decade, they might have just gotten bored, as I'm not convinced it generated large amounts of income to warrant the effort, but who knows. In the end, this was a great, impressive community, and it's sad to see it gone. Oh, and hello there Atasas, I remember you Hope everything is fine and life is treating you great!
Nice story, but crying do not help, it is necessary to operate! Don't cry only, start to do... Moreover, it's offend to people on this forum. You like to emphasize that everything is bad here and it was good there. It isn't polite.
As a former mod, you'd think I can recognize blatant trolling and baiting, eh Anyway, there's nothing I can do. As it was specified in my post, it's been almost a decade since I lost contact with the team. Even if I were there, it would change nothing, fixing such a big thing as a non-working forum for 2 months is the admin's job, and if they can't/won't do it, they might have their reasons. Stomping your feet on the floor asking for things to "operate" won't change it.
I told you and everyone more than two months ago that the problem is not with the forum software, server, or database, but one more and more serious problem ... This is problem with staff and owners and the most important - it is the earning money and it sharing. That's the problem.
Not disclosing where or how it was leaked, but happened about year ago. Simply one admin thought of it somewhere too openly and loudly ...
Their (nsane forums) biggest (recent) problem happened in June/July 2016......and is why they are down now, and is why they will stay down. Has not one thing to do with $$$ or sharing. It has to do with respect or the lack of, it has to do with propagating lies and falsehoods. The staff was weak minded and arrogant, which got them owned.
@toyo Hey buddy! Opposite, staff was too helpful (as by nature of the forum) and have been trying the very best to respond to endless flame-bites and other demands for respect or even answer "demands" in every single situation... uh wait- I see something similar happening here in discussing the site issues already and no!, it is not competition to this site (never was) or it by any means demeans this site as members of THIS site are discussing nSane site issues as it comes to database- yes, there where major issues, that later on had become even more of an importance, especially, when site staff kept "drifting away" etc... there was also issue of potential database leak, that considering calibre of contributors and users on site can not be ignored. As mentioned earlier nSane is down, but nSane community spirit lives lives on! although it seems "refugees are still wandering about", looking for news or shores to land on....
If the problem is that a forum is needed, you could open a new one at any time. I think, most likely anyone can do it. But that's not the problem. There are thousands of such forums, and they are all empty, there is no content, often copied only something. This forum was only needed to certain people to do their own things there. In fact, it was already empty for many years. Was a couple hundred living members, and that was all. There was one very serious problem, there were not enough members who needs this forum yet? Yes, everyone could read from the right of the side that there were more than 42 thousand members, but the maximum number of visitors was on average less than two hundred in day, including also unknown, or so-called guests from somewhere ... There are thousands of empty and useless forums, not just this, which is now dead. But a bit of philosophy too. If you have noticed, then after death, everyone/everything will change good, no matter if they are people or something else. So, of course, he died very early.....

If you find somewhere...please comment...some of us will appreciate it... In the meantime MDL community is supporting...
MDL have been a real great forum many years like Nsane also are, they are just two different kind of forum with different strength. Common for both forum are that they have many real good users as are real helpful for people as need help. Hope both will stay alive forever
MDL is my number one site even though I do not post as much but I am still active everyday reading including this thread. Who knows what really happened or if it will come back some day. This isnt uncommon with warez sites as most of us already know. Me and a few others plan on opening our own site to help others find useful downloads. Not replacing nsane but making our own new home. I love MDL for windows related information but like having access to other software as well. Even trolls miss nsane obviously since some are posting here now. lol Think its time to move on from nsane until or if they ever come back. If You want to do new site, do it, but not with others, make it Yourself as owner, as admin, make it as it should be done that it can stay live. Everything, where is more than one owner, more than one leader, one who decides and is responsible, it is assigned to die. Sooner or later it will happen. (Even one child cannot at the same time have more than one mother and one father, but on of them is the chief.) Old good wisdom - if you don't want someone responsible, make a commission (or committee - don't know how it is better to say in english).
@The_Guardian: I couldn't agree more. MDL is like a favorite pub or bar. All your friends are there, and the bartender knows your 'poison'. There's no place like it. (AFAIC)
I love it when ppl try to tell you what to do when they have nothing to do with it. lol Got to love trolls. We have specific ppl for specific tasks so no one gets their toes stepped on. Plus we know each other for years so disrespect will not be an issue with those of us that are involved in the new site.
