why did you change the forum! it was awesome! i hate it when interfaces are changed for change's sake
Murphy's Law: If it's good, they'll change or stop making it. If it's bad, it will perpetuate to eternity.
Spoiler: screenshot Something has to be wrong there. I disabled 2 security programs, only to have 2 more tell me to think again.
If anyone can post there, please direct them to this https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerab..._id-128/version_id-201907/PHP-PHP-5.6.24.html
I was using Opera browser and even tried Firefox. Nothing about Google except that it was in a search, but manually typing did not help either. Oh well. ^ This still applies though. You should tell them about it.
Allowing SSL inception while trying to secure a system totally contradicts the purpose . Seeing people trust those nasty link checkers always amazes me.
Even with all my security apps disabled, the web browser alone said it was bad. No matter how you slice it, something there is not right. FYI: I'd rather have a checker, as opposed being naked on the web. It is unrealistic to manually check ever SSL Certificate given the sure volume you could have on just 1 single page. I'd get nothing done that way (time-consuming).
Not sure what you mean by naked, my FF is very far from being naked (actually quite fortified). Any process interferring with the https connections drastically weakens it's security and even creates new attack vectors . Snake oil at it's best.
I'll keep drinking my snake oil. If you have nothing to check SSL you're naked. Firefox and other popular web browsers have their own check system built in for this reason.
Apparently the browser needs to check. I was still referring to link checkers as part of AVs, which interfer directly with that secure communication between the browser and the web site. Assuming those checkers would offer any 'protection' is quite naive.
Your web browser has very limited ability in the way of security. Even still, nsane's SSL certificate couldn't even pass that. That being said, it is fairly easy to trick your web browser that everything is "OK" when it clearly is not. It is naive to depend only on your web browsers limited capabilities. But if you think you know better, please do share with us all here, what method you use to overcome that limitation.
#1. You obviously don't understand that https should be handled exclusively by your browser. ANY 3rd party process interferring with it defies the very purpose. #2. The site the topic is about doesn't, even use https. No security to expect there.
You still have no address the question. What steps do you use or recommend to overcome the limitation of your browser's security, since your browser can easily be tricked into believing everything is "OK" when it is not? In other words @s1ave77 if you are visiting a site that has been compromised, what is keeping your safe right now?
There is no limitation with HTTPS. If a site doesn't use it, there is NoScript, uBlock and HTTPSEverywhere for my FF.
