I've noticed when applying and exporting wim in NTLite, it still halves the .WIM file size, so I suspect there still is some sort of compression going on. Is there any way to confirm or address this?
I use multiple programs to edit and remove components so I don't like to use any compression when editing. I like to do it myself by exporting ESD with DISM in CMD. Basically I'm worried about double compressing / compressing stuff that's already compressed. And I have a Samsung SSD if you're curious.
Got it, makes sense indeed. I asked just because I replied to a very similar question today, but in that case the user was convinced that a compressed wim leaded to a compressed FS when applied (which is false), and that a compressed FS would lead to degraded performances (which is false as well, on SSDs)
I just posted another question about MSMG Toolkit regarding compression. Tbh it should be a feature in the app already, maybe will be added in the future.
