that would be the checksum complaining, since the bios is modded, and i dont know how to fix the checksum, you need to get a rompaq.exe that doesnt check the checksum, i used the rompaq.exe that came from the nx9420 package, while keeping other files the same, but the other user did this as well, and managed to brick his laptop, so i guess its up to how adventurous you feel.

all i can tell you is, it shouldnt brick your laptop, as i only changed the SLIC area of the bios, you can even check for yourself, compare the bios files. but again, i offer no guarantee that this will work 100%

um... mine did that too, but i was using a difference rompaq.exe, then i used the one that came in the nx9420 and it works, looks like your going to need to find another flasher that works for you, as i dont know, my buddy didnt flash his yet...

why cant u just use the file from megaupload?

nope, i checked the file, its byte for byte identical, when the flasher complains about read errors its usualy a checksum problem. like i said, all you have to do is compare the files, everything except for SLIC should be exactly the same

Already flashed it back to (virgin) HP F.15 BIOS. No SLIC!

edit*: F.14 Has no SLIC either. Trying F.13 now
edit*: F.13 Has no SLIC either. Trying F.11 now
