I'm using Basic1.3.13. What is the correct order of creating partition?? Is it Recovery-->SystemReserved-->Windows?? I try to create them during installation of windows. But failed as when ever i try to create recovery [of 12GB] on 1st position,System reserved of 350 MB is created on 1st place autometically & then recovery of [12GB-350 MB]. Then i try to install recovery tool in that order. But it also doesn't work as system reserved becomes visible & files of 109 MB copied to it.[I think it's configured to copy to 1st partition i.e recovery.]Then it restarted automatically during operation & As in my case system reserved is modified i'm unable to boot after this. No one is replying. Is it a dead forum?? Please help
Why can't i'm getting MSR partition?? I have UEFI Mobo & used Autounattempted.xml from GTP. Is that mean i'm not in UEFI mode?? During Boot,My USB is not even showed as UEFI Boot. Why???
MBR disk are used when the computer use the legacy BIOS mode. GPT disk are used when the computer is in UEFI mode, which replace BIOS. Not all computer support UEFI. Also, UEFI requires 64bits OS. Please note that using AutoUnattend.zml file will delete EVERYTHING on your computer. To use it, copy the one you wish to use in the root of a USB key, plug the key on the computer and start the Windows installation, either from DVD or USB key.
On BIOS computer, the partition layount (as for 1.3.13) is : - Recovery (WIM recovery image + Recovery tools) [12gb, NTFS, ID 27] - Boot partition [300mb, NTFS, Active] - Windows partition [NTFS, all free space of the drive] On UEFI/GPT computer, the partition layout is (as for 1.3.13) : - Recovery (WIM recovery image + Recovery tools) [12gb, NTFS] - Boot partition [300mb, FAT32, Active] - MSR partition (128MB, OEM file system, managed by Windows) - Windows partition [NTFS, all free space of the drive] On UEFI/GPT computer, the partition layout is (as for 1.3.14 - Alpha) : - Recovery (Recovery tools) [1gb, NTFS] - Boot partition [300mb, FAT32, Active] - MSR partition (128MB, OEM file system, managed by Windows) - Windows partition [NTFS, all free space of the drive] - Recovery Image (WIM Recovery image) [NTFS, 12gb] If you plan to resize the Windows partition to create new partition after, don't use the 1.3.14 version, as creating new partition may create problem for Windows to find the recovery image.
If you can't create the MSR partition, it is because you are not in UEFI mode. When creating UEFI boot media (USB key) to install Windows, you have to mode some file to some directory to make it bootable in UEFI mode. Check the web, I don't do it often enough to know it by heart.
Oh, btw, no, this forum is not dead. I just have less time right now. I am also waiting for feedback about the 1.3.14 - Alpha version on Windows 8 as I wasn't able to test everything on my side.

Error during the Sysprep process is not due to this package but due to sysprep itself. The best way to isolate the problem is to : - Install Windows - Install basic drivers - Capture If it works, it is due to one of the application you have installed. If it fail again, try with a basic Windows installation without any drivers. Then try by adding/capturing with 1 new deriver at a time. It can be due to some conflict. Under Windows 7 on AMD processos with ATI video card, I had to install the video drivers on the first boot. I was not able to install the drivers in the image. Good luck!
i downloaded the basic 1.2 version on the first post. it contained an instructions.rtf. it doesnt say anything about waik so im guessing basic 1.2 version doesnt need waik? and do i need to extract the files to the root drive of the usb key or can i extract it inside a folder, well except for the autounattend.
what modify to do in settingsRe.txt i don't know how, resetpartition.txt i've set at 25000, but not changed the size, please help me
im trying to change the hotkey to F6 because F7 conflicts with the boot menu of my motherboard. im using basic 1.3.13 windows 7 starter and changed the hotkey entry in settingsre.txt to 0x4000. pressing F6 or F7 on system startup doesnt give me any options to boot to recovery tools. it just gives me options to boot to windows 7 or windows memory diagnostics. pressing F8 doesnt give me the Repair your computer option too. the recovery tool runs fine when i use the fullrestore.cmd in windows folder though.
When using the Alpha version with the recovery image on the last partition, change the following settings in the "SettingsRE.TXT" file to select your desired partition size. IMAGESIZE=12000 to IMAGESIZE=24000 for a 24gb recovery partition. As for the ResetPartitions.txt, you mush change SHRINK DESIRED=12000 MINIMUM=12000 to SHRINK DESIRED=24000 MINIMUM=24000 to have a 24gb recovery partition.
Open command promt as admin and try the following : REAGENTC /DISABLE REAGENTC /ENABLE and try again....
