If you look on the recovery partition, in the Recovery\WindowsRE folder, do you have a install.wim file? Files/folder may be hidden.

If I use Option 1: Will it create the recovery partition on the hard drive as well?
Option:2 is not doable because there is no media that works with this tablet that will let me ghost it. Acronis wont work, ActiveDisk wont work.
So I am hoping I can go with Option 1. I just need to make sure that the recovery partition is in the hard drive for the user to use themselves when I am not around.

Normally yes. But if you choose the Windows 8 version that put the WIM file at the end of the drive, no.

I will be on vacation and so I won't be able to provide any kind of support until the last week of Mars. Also, if my server crash, I won't be able to reboot it and so the download link may be unavailble if this happen.

    Thanks!

    Can someone help me please
does this software work on raid system?
i have a raid 0 and i need to apply the drivers manually.

i am installing win 8 pro, i get an error message when i choose the version of win 8 to install

" Windows could not create partition on disk 0. The error occurred while applying the unattend answer file's <DiskConfiguration> setting. Error code: 0x80042565 "

do i need to do something on the unattend file for the raid driver?

1-it is on his todo list but he is on vacation right now so it will be a while.

2-you can adjust the function key to what ever you want in the settings.ini file ( i use f11 personally ) in win 7. So by pressing the function key during bootup you will enter the recovery partition. Havent used it on win 8 yet personally.
3-you can do manually also but I would just adjust the autounattended.xml and files in the settings folder.

4-the software is made to act like most oem recovery partitions....so if ppl have issues they can just recover it themselves which is very nice and alot faster then a fresh install.....even using usb 2.0 it recovers in 20 mins on my machine.

    Hope this helps you.

thanks you for the help, I'll try to practice

    Update
    - I've tried looking in settings.ini but I am confused about where I put it (F2 = 0x3c00) or what should I replace. os boot recovery by pressing "F2". I try to look at another file but did not find.

    - not found HOTKEY in settings.ini (last version)

I just noticed that win 8 recovery software doesn't have functions key reason being a lot are tabs and use a actual button....maybe he can add it in next release but that is up to him. Like I said I haven't tried it on win 8 for I wont ever use that os personally. Might want to talk to him when he gets back from vacation. Win 8 might not have that ability like win 7 does so that might be why it isn't added. Just another reason for me not to upgrade to win 8. Sorry I couldn't help. You should be able to access the recovery partition from within windows 8 through recovery tools....if comp wont boot into windows then you would have to use the usb recovery media that you created.
