The following command : C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\SYSPREP.EXE /GENERALIZE /REARM /REBOOT Should be use only when the computer is in AUDIT mode and you want to leave it in AUDIT mode, but you want to generalize the image PRIOR to capturing the GENERIC DVD. The following command : C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\SYSPREP.EXE /OOBE /REBOOT (or /QUIT) Shouls be use when the drivers has been added to the generic image (thas has been restored) prior to capture the new image. If you are not using a generic image, use the GUI to use the good parameters. Thanks.
I know all that I installed win7 32bit and entered AUDIT mode updated installed programs and then used : C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\SYSPREP.EXE /GENERALIZE /REARM /REBOOT Then sysprep came up with an error something about not accepted ????
Can you write a cmd command to start the diskpart tool for making disk partitions automatically, and this added to the Windows installation ISO.
Just made a fresh 32bit install and booted first time into audit mode Typed : C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\SYSPREP.EXE /GENERALIZE /REARM /REBOOT Not accepted Attached error
Hm this is weird.. I prepped my laptop with updates & apps. installed the recovery tools, used generic image, rebooted & captured. worked fine After that i picked reboot computer and i get a nice little error i got some other times, that windows cant finish configuring the system, restart and try again.. Then it reboots and i get the same error again....
Well, the REARM option is not supported. By heart, only OOBE, AUDIT, GENERALIZE, REBOOT, QUIT, SHUTDOWN and the one to specify the XML file are supported. Type without the REARM switch, since it always REARM anyway. The only way to prevent rearming is to use a XML file with the option turned off.
What about my issue? Did i check an option too much before capturing? Edit; Spelling error: Section: Switching to AUDIT mode and installing software Line: If you plan to create a generic image, DO NOT install any drivers, has they will be removed during the SYSPREP step. Shoudnt it be "as they will be...."
Creating a GENERIC image require to generalize the system. This can create problems with some software, like DVD/CD burning software, Daemon tools, etc. What are the software you have installed in the base image? Thanks.
Basic software; piriform apps, windows updates, live messenger etc. I also installed IMGBurn & poweriso if that matters. Edit: Ill try without those Btw, how can i sort my own programs in one folder? Now its Start > all programs > > App 1 > App 2 > App 3 etc. I would like to sort them like this Start > all programs > tcntad appfolder > App 1 > App 2 etc... How to do that?
Man if u need another better translation,or U add other few descriptions, make me a PM,so i'll try to translate that faster than I can, Gz for the RC1
@TCDTAD I am clueless, sorry! I am not a guru of SYSPREP. I was more knowledgable with Sysprep under XP. Today, I had to create an image for Windows 7 64 bits. I have installed a lot of apps and everything worked well. Are-you trying to create a GENERIC image that you will use on different hardware? If not, maybe you can try with a normal image (Sysprep, Rearm) without the GENERALIZE option. Maybe an update is creating the problem also, I don't know. Did you install any drivers for the computer? Except maybe the LAN or WiFi drivers, you should not install any drivers when creating a generic image (that is why I always did generic image under vmware).
Well, since I don't speak Italian, I can not say if your translation is good, or not. So I will let it up to you Thanks!
Yep thats what o, trying to do, would be nice with a dvd with apps and updates already installed.. Nope, havent installed any drivers at all. I could probably try creating a generic image with no updates at all...
