In the next release, I will automatically kill running sysprep before starting the process. Thanks for telling it!
this program can also create a partition to recover for these types of laptops that do not have it recover? as one example on acer noteboks 4740 recovery partition that does not install it.
Uhm the idea of this program IS to CREATE a recoverypartition on your harddrive.. Doesnt matter if it already has one or not, but if it has one. use that one instead.
Question about the winRE.wim I really appreciate all the work that has went into this project. I have installed win7 sp1 x64 on a intel core 2 duo system. But when i use the recovery installer in x86 mode i can't see the winRE.wim file. When i run the installer in AMDx64 mode i can see the file. Is it safe to install the AMDx64 ver. on a intel cpu? UPDATE... After testing, the AMDx64 installer works perfect with Intel cpu. Recovery worked perfect. I really am excited about the fact that this will same me and others many hours recovering computers from disaster. Thank You all for all your hard work getting this tool working this great.
AMDx64 is just 64-bit installer (named similair as MS did with Vista), and is unrelated to CPU brand in your system.
Thanks for this amazing and probably the only one of its kind, software. Surely OEMs have it (Softhinks and others)but they dont distribute it to public. I was Tired of these oem recovery partition which are very useful for recovery, but are often preloaded with lots of s**t and trial softwares. So i was searching for something like this for a long long time and finally got it. Installed v2.10 and its absolutely flawless. The Recovery image creation is fine, the restoration from recovery partition is fine and the iso image creation is also fine. (Though not tried to restore from Recovery DVD) Just One Question pops up in my mind and i have gone through all the pages uptill now, that why cant we use an antivirus and capture the image, so as to have a preinstalled antivirus every time we do a recovery. It's True that if we try to do so, the system will hang in a loop saying "Starting Services" and then reebooting, But again the question why. Surely OEMs have a recovery partion with preinstalled antivirus, so the same thing is possible with this Software. Anyways, Just came here to say thanks to the Creator and to all those who have taken so much effort in testing this software so as to get it up and running. Recomended to every tech enthusiast. its Great!!!
I whonder to, they probably have scripts such as setupcomplete but in their own way and kind to do that, or its totally deactivated using switches, Im not sure.
So probably the next big thing that AnarethoS can do (and i am sure he will try his best) is to create some kind of script to counter this flaw. Anyways installing an antivirus after recovery is not such a pain and moreover these antivirus program are updated yearly with the antivirus engine updating every two months so its probably a blessing in disguise as to not have an antivirus program in one's recovery image. Keep up the good work AnarethoS & tcntad.
I have been able to install MSE in audit mode without problems, so it probably depends on the Anti-Virus package you are trying to install
Strange! I tried the same thing, installing MSE in audit mode and then updating it, but sysprepping failed. Got stuck in the same annoying loop of "Starting Services". Next i tried with same set of softwares only without MSE and this time i succeded. How did u do that? Disabled MSE before sysprepping or what, Plz explain.
