    If you have SWM file on the recovery partition, keep them. You will need multiple DVD for your Windows 7 media

    Step 1 : Copy the original Windows 7 media to a folder on the computer
    Step 2 : In the SOURCES folder, delete Install.Wim
    Step 3 : Put the first SWM file there. It should be named Install.Swm
    Step 4 : For each SWM files left, burn them on a DVD in a SOURCES folder also. File should be named Install2.Swm on DVD2, Install3.Swm on DVD 3 and so on.

    Burn the first DVD making bootable. Lok on the internet for that.

    Should be OK. I suggest you try with DVDRW disk or create ISO file and try them in VirtualBox or VmWare just in case.

    The recovery partition will be lost by the way since you are not using the Recovery Disk and tools to reinstall on anopther computer.

    Also, when creating the IMAGE, do not use the "Keep Drivers" and be sure to select "Generalize" if you want to use the disk on multiple computer.

    Thanx all of u for gr8 support.... i used this recovery tool in many laptops and desktops with no problem.
    @ AnarethoS when i create recovery media and select single layer DVD, it takes 2 dvd's ( 1st dvd 3700 mb and 2nd 347 mb) but, when i select a dual layer dvd BUT INSERT A SINGLE LAYER DVD my recovery image fit on the disk with no problem......i dont know its a bug or something else.

    The Duallayer is roughly 8.5GB while the single layer is around 4.5GB.

    The files are splitted to ~3.9GB each so you wont get any troubles with the iso's, restoring, burning, cannot read etc.

    On a DVD burned with ISO standard, it is not possible to have a file bigger than 4gb. For that, you need UDF, but I have some problem making a bootbale DVD with UDF. So, I have to split the WIM file in multiple SWM file. ImageX seem to have some problem spliting a WIM file in perfectly 4gb file, so I had to specify 3.7gb just in case it use more space (I tried using bigger file, but sometime they were biger that 4gb).

    In your situation, splittig at 4gb would have worked (and used only 1 dvd). It's good that it works on 1 regular DVD :)

    To go directly into the Recovery Tools, simply press F7 several time during the boot process.
    Otherwise, press F8, Press ESC than TAB to select the Recovery Tools in the bottom part of the boot menu.

    For the antiVirus, I can't add one to the recovery tool. Since it is based on WinRE (and not a fresh build of WinPE), the 64bits version don't allow execution of 32bits software.

    Hope it helps.

    Hello AnarethoS,
    thx for this very nice tools. I have a question...(do not know if stupid^^)

    In your help file(Installation instruction ) you write
    Code:
    Diskpart
    select disk 0
    clean
    create partition primary size=12000
    format fs=ntfs quick label=RECOVERY
    set ID=27
    assign letter=R
    create partition primary size=300
    active
    format fs=ntfs quick label=SYSTEM
    assign letter=S
    create partition primary
    format fs=ntfs quick label=WINDOWS
    assign letter=C
    exit

    You assign c to windows, but in your overview you write -> w=windows

    Disk Partition Label Type File System Letter Size
    0 1 Recovery OEM NTFS R 12 GB
    0 2 System Active NTFS S 300 MB
    0 3 Windows N/A NTFS W N/A

    I have made this configuration:
    Recovery letter R
    System letter S
    Windows letter c
    Data letter d

    Now I have config the settings

    Code:
    [Settings]
    Version=2.1.1
    Languages=13
    DebugLevel=0
    DiskID=0
    WipeUSBDVD=1
    RecoveryPartitionID=1
    RecoveryLetter=R:
    RecoveryLabel=RECOVERY
    BootPartitionID=2
    BootLetter=S:
    BootLabel=SYSTEM
    WindowsPartitionID=3
    WindowsLetter=W:
    WindowsLabel=WINDOWS
    Partition1Size=12000
    Partition1Type=27
    Partition1Label=RECOVERY
    Partition2Size=300
    Partition2Type=07
    Partition2Label=SYSTEM
    Partition3Type=07
    Partition3Label=WINDOWS
    Partition3Size=50000
    DefaultLanguage=-1
    TrueCrypt=0

    Which letter should now be assigned with "WINDOWS(WindowsPartitionID=3)" c or w?

    mild greetings

    is there a way to integrate windows loader into this? every time I attempt this, and use windows loader in audit mode, something goes wrong.

    also, I'd love to see the windows 7 version of this have a preparation disk like the windows xp one.

    The best way to use this software with Windows 7 Loader is to use the SetupComplete.Cmd method. Search on the web for details.

    SetupComplete.Cmd is a fil which is executed just after OOBE (OOBE will be executed after each full or partial system restore using my tool). to launch softwares and script with administrators rights. I use it to install software that create problem with Sysprep and to install the Windows 7 Loader.

    For the "Preparation Disk", are you refering to the one I made for Windows XP/Vista in the first post?

    If yes, you don't need such a disk. Juste copy the already "AutoUnattend.xml" file to the root of a usb key and let this key connected to the computer during the Windows 7 installation. It will automatically partition the computer.

    Good luck!
