Than you sir for your time.. wish all the best, congratulations for 1.3.5 .. the Documentation was really professional step thank you for everything so far BTW about IMAGEX should i place it in the empty ImageX folder in "Windows 7 Recovery Tools" or "Windows 8 Recovery Tools" according to need if win7 or win8 should i place it in every place like the older ver
Only in Windows 7 in the empty folder. File must be name "imagex.exe". Script will take care of renaming each of them correctly.
1.3.6 is out - You can now upgrade from 1.2.0 (old BASIC version) to 1.3.6 - You can now upgrade from 1.3.X to 1.3.6 Also, since there was a way to "upgrade" from Legacy 2.1.1 to 1.2.0, you can now upgrate from legacy to new tools by : - Using upgrade tools in 1.2.0 (from 2.1.1 Legacy) - Then upgrade from 1.2.0 to 1.3.6 --->Not tested btw. Added paypal buy button on my web page also (donate seems limited to registered non-profit organisation in Canada, which I am not). So if anyone want to encourage me, it is up to them now! (What? I want to buy my HP ElitePad 900 in february to test my tools )
First off thank you....I noticed there were files in the settings folder of the win 7 that before was empty (the win 8 one is empty)....is this just a fluke? Should we delete those? Thought I would ask. Great job!
I just removed the IMAGEX file in newer version. FullRestore is still there for Windows 7. It does not exist for Windows 8. And Windows 8 do not allow hot key to boot.
Code: Dear AnarethoS, I became interested in their software, but I have some doubts. 1 - He recreates the partition table or just do a reinstall on the windows partition, thus creating the folder "Windows.old" 2 - I always make a separate partition for personal data, for example: 500GB HDD = 1 + system partition - 350MB, 1 +-150GB windows partition and a data partition with the remaining disk space to direct it where user files to protect them if Windows fails. Your software vai vai respect that or make a new partition table? 3rd-You can customize this part of the partition if he does not comply? I await your return A hug and congratulations for the work. Marcelo "Sushi" You can modify setting file to suit your need. But keep in mind that ALL partition will be erased when recovering from USB. If recovering from recovery partition, only Windows partiion will be touched.
Seems I can't ad a pool to this thread.... so I ask all of you : What sould I do next? 1) Create an instruction document for the END USER on how to use my software to recover it's computer? 2) Add a splash image before launching the recovery tool, so computer manufacturer could then put their own logo? 3) Sielf-sign my application with a certificate that would be automatically installed on the target computer, so your will have a warnig about a software which need admins right, but at least it won't show "an unknown application....." 4) Other suggestion?
For the splash screen, it would be disabled by defaut, but I can skip with pleasure I start to work on a End-User recovery document for both OS then. I will make it in english and french. It will be up to you to translate in another language is needed.
I will see what I can do. My old video guide is perfect for W7 and the older version. Perhaps I will make one for W8 and the new tool but I need better recording software I will download and try install W8 in vmware but I cant garantuee it Edit: I downloaded the software and documentation seems bit hard for beginners, we'll see if I can use it Edit2: Questions: Does this has be on a USB Key? It says Ive to run the update_settings.cmd, have to on the usb key? Or can it be run before copying to an ISO file?
Hi bro, the latest version is complicated and failed to capture image... I copied the imagex to imagex directory, and I run update_setting and its success, den I proceed to Installer and run install.cmd, and it mounting and unmounting in progress, till the last step, its state wat wat wat cannot be found and auto restart, from there it direct access to windows, not capture image... What step I have missing? FYI: I always extract basic1.3.x into drive c: and run update_setting, and install.cmd from there after windows installation finished. And I also manually create partition, not using autoattend.xml in USB.
Did you also go to settings_example folder and copy settings for MBR or GPT to the Setting folder before updating settings?
