I have installed windows using 3 partitions, syspreped using windows sysprep. booted to windows install disc and start the command prompt from there. according to microsoft DISM does not support capturing without mounting a WIM first. supposed to use imagex. except I see that your commands use dism to capture, but when i try it says /capture-image is unknown. how did you get it to work?? i cant get it to start a capture
Laptops rarely will have a 2nd drive, unless its real high-end. check your disk manager that there is actually more than 1 disk ID(ex: disk 0, disk 1, disk 2) seems odd, might just be multiple partitions.
Can't for the timer. There is no way with AutoIT to check how much time remaining to copy files. The same for Imagex, only Capture/Apply info can be captured. Thanks for all the tests.
Good Night and sorry for my bad english ( i am french ) :!: I have a problème when i start the win8 setup ( " Windows can't found the Product key in the autounattends answer file " ) Can you help me please ? ( Thanks in advance ! ) And thanks for your good works ! Jeyak
Thank your again for another fantastic program. I have a few questions and suggestions. 1- Is it possible to redo install.cmd to include settings for either gpt or mbr like: installMBR.cmd and installGPT.cmd instead of have of having to move settings manually. I would think that would eliminate need to update.cmd. 2- I wanted to use setupcomplete.cmd to start windows loader and then found that you had used setupcomplete within ver. 1.39 in the install.cmd. conflicts? with two (2) of them. Suggestions ? 3- While creating a USB recovery the dialog included "installing windows (USB may be removed) I think it should say "Installing windows (USB must be removed now before computer restarts". Leaving in there with a MAYBE REMOVED could cause computer to restart recovery process again upon reboot. 4- After USB Recovery is complete, the same dialog box returns to ask if you want to reinstall or repair windows... if possible could that dialog be eliminated after recovery and note to remove USB Now AND REBOOT instead. There is NO exit to that dialog box except to select the X in the upper right corner. Thank your for your patience with me and my rambling. I am testing this on Gateway intel 64 bit processor wth 3 gig ram, Win 7 x86 V1.39. Installed with updated and apps. Yes - Complete Recovery from HD Yes - Complete Recovery from USB KEY Original recovery installed HD and a new HD (not pre partitioned) NOT VMWARE Yes - Hot Key Works with other than F7 Yes - Recovery Partition Hidden Only used in English, other languages were available Have not tried updating to newer version yet!
1) Doing that, I will have 4 script to modify (2 for Windows 7 and 2 for Windows 8) which may includes more risk of error. Also, you would still have to use the "update_Settings" script, as you may wish to have a different partition layout than the default one. 2)My script create a setupcomplete file if none is available. If there is already one, I add my required script at the beginnig of the existing file, so you can still use your. Juste copy the file you use BEFORE launching the recovery toll creator 3)The string can be change by anyone, just edit the Settings.ini file. I may change it for French and English 4)I could have the computer auto-reboot after the recovery process if successful, otherwise, go back to main menu. I will check that
Are you in AUDIT mode? When the message pop-up, check to see if you have files under C:\Windows\System32\RecoveryTools
Ok, and from the "Installer" folder, if you run the following command in command prompt, does it work? (this will create the recovery Tools icons in the start menu/Metro Gui) Code: CreateShortcut "C:\Windows\System32\RecoveryTools\Recovery%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%.EXE" "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Recovery Tools.lnk"
i have tried the hebrew translation, because hebrew is RTL language, the words aren't displayed in the correct order, i try to use the switch "/n" for a new line but don't work. maybe i can use another switch?
There is no switch or character to split line in my tools for now. Maybe I will do something in the future is I have time.
Yes, me to. Base image contains too much scrapware. I already recreade a new recovery partition with a new image, with exactly what I need.
