-Windows 7 Version -Application installed manually in audit mode (Win7) -USB Recovery (Can we set the password ?)
Nah you should have it let a fixed average size, what if one plans to update the recovery image, if you have it "dynamic" it gets a bit harder, remove partition, shrink partiton, create partition for a new recovery image. Though you could make both a option, so you either have fixed or dynamic, dynamic for PC's you don't touch yourself ever again so you really aren't going capture a new recovery image, and fixed if you are actually planning to eventually create a new image at some point, for example the next time you recover > install a bit more and create a new recovery image this time around. Get what i mean? I would still put the WinRE tools onto the same partition as boot loader on MBR, a extra partition for a few files is a bit bloat, there isn't much that could go wrong, you aren't supposed to remove either anyway so i would stick em together just for the sake of not having as many partitions as possible
Are-you sure you have installed your applications for "All Users" and not only the current user? The current Adminsitrator account used in AUDIT mode is deleted. After recovery, can you see the files in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folder? As for the USB password... I won't made a new one. I mean, if it is to protect the computer from accidental reformat, the best way will be to set a BIOS password to prevent use of bootable media, because event if the USB recovery drive is password protected, you can still use Linux, Windows media, etc. to boot and acess files on the computer. And what happen if you have forgotten you recovery password? You won't be able to reinstall Just my thought....

Bro this happen first time with me bcoz i installed appz before but never see this problem before some software remain installed but some software automated uninstalled e.g i install firefox, and chrome after first logon chrome uninstalled and firefox there... I install kml player vlc but only vlc shows... in audit mode in programe files all software have their folder but after sysprep some folder shows and some never shows ..... And you are absolutely right about usb password its never worked if we set password how can we recover os from it...??? Thanks
For the software problem Since when do you have the problem? since 1.3.13 or before? Personnally, I didn't change the way I capture the Windows installation / do the sysprep since a lot of version so I will need more details there. Can you give me a list of the applications that wen deinstalled? I will check on my side.
Previous version did't have this problem i face this is problem in this version 1.3.13 Deinstalled appz Chrome Kml player Anti virus (Nod32) IDM Nokia suite Skype DU meter
I am really surprised about waht you say, since only the followin part has been modified between 1.3.12 and 1.3.13 - Capture process : I let the partition ID to hidden now in 1.3.13, while I was switching between hidden/not-hidded in 1.3.12 - Reinstallation process : I let the partition ID to hidden now in 1.3.13, while I was switching between hidden/not-hidded in 1.3.12 - Full reinstallation process in Windows 7 WinRE : Added in 1.3.13. Based on the script use to restore from USB media. The SYSPREP process and the XML file used is the same as before. Also, I tried to install some of your mentionned software (Chrome, Firefox, Skype, VLC media player) and all where still there after the capture process.... What if you use the same media that you are using now but with my previous version (1.3.12)? Does it works again? I asking just to be sure it is my software and not some changed on your installation media. And the software disapear after the capture or only when you reinstall from the recovery image?
I've found that some software sets up shortcuts for the user your logged in on & not for all, ie public\desktop. If you browse your Programs Files directory I bet the software is there & you have to make your own shortcuts. Have you looked in installed programs? They are probably still listed. TV Tuner software seems to be the worst that I've experienced...
That is why I install most of my software with Setupcomplete.cmd script Also, you can always copy the icons to the "All Users" Start Menu or the Public decktop (C:\Users\Public\Desktop). Theses will be kept.
hmmm may be this problem cause by media bcoz i tested 1.3.13 on win7 old version without sp1 and in sp1 1.3.12 working like charm .... I'll change the media and test on sp1 tomorrow. And software disappear after capture complete i checked in programe files but there is no folder like Flipp3r says ...
I am using the MSDN SP1 Windows 7 iso in which I have injected IE 9 and French language and didn't have any problems. I even added the AIO option ot put the OEM info (which use OOBE) and everything seems ok. Good luck!
Never tried it and my script doesn't support it. You can try by yourself by creating the Windows partition and system partition on drive 0 and the recovery partition on drive 2 and move the recovery file/WinRE file there and then play with reagentc. But all papers from M$ state that it must be on the same drive, so I suppose it won't works. Good luck!
ok i tested 1.3.13 version on win7 sp1 now the issue i see is nod32,chrome,framwork 4.5 these app deinstalled after capture completed ... Remaining software working good ...
@ technomaster I have been reading your results the last few days and I am wondering if you use sysprep tool to reboot into audit mode again after you do the installations of your apps. Some apps require reboot in order to finish installing plus some dont give option for other users to have access to it. Audit mode is a temp area for mostly driver installs not so much apps....even my new dell installs apps at setupcomplete time and not done in audit mode. Try rebooting into audit mode after you do your installations using the sys prep tool. Might find more apps install then but question would be if installed for your user profile when windows installation is complete and then restore it. NOD32 and .Net Framework requires reboot. Chrome shouldnt but is user controlled so I bet it wont install correctly after the windows installation....User profile is used so might have to do setupcomplete on that one for sure. If using silent install switches to install apps you will not get option of which users to install to. Plus in Audit mode no users have been setup yet for windows installation hasnt completed yet.
You are right some appz/driver neend restart so they integrate or mix up with operating system but the problem is i restart my os after i done installing 2apps or 2 drivers this is my route en bcoz some time if you dont restart windows some drives or software might cause problem in windows ... in my case i don't knw what i missing or doing wrong these two or three apps really making trouble for me
