I am really sorry for bringing the thread back from the dead, but I need some help.
There is a pc running xp (for the common "work from home with anything you have" situation of our days) and the newest office I can install on it is 2010. How can I activate it though? Is kmspico still good for the job?

Well, if you choose Windows 7 and above, we all recommend to use a up-to-date and supported KMS activator in general.
With a newer Office (that is C2R based instead of MSI based) you find relevant info, Office install tools and KMS activators listed here [DISCUSSION] Microsoft Office 2019

 

You are right about that.
To be honest, I really like office 2010 because every new version of office, from 2013 to 2019, has become more and more... annoying with ms accounts, cloud integration etc.

Please excuse my poor vocabulary. Maybe "annoying" is not the right word there, but I can not find a better way to describe what... annoys me in the newer versions.
