Ok that is brilliant cause MD suggested that we check out ospprun.exe form technical preview to maybe do that. Congratulations on that. But how are we going to avoid error. I get same error with AutoRearm when I try it. It has failed both restore and rearm with me. How can we overcome that? Thanks
Anyone want to help me out with my office rearm idea let me know I would appreciate it Otherwise I can't do anything else from here.
Well I will help you to create a console application (with native Win32 API) and properly a GUI if I have time ...... but atm I will try to help you to figure out why such an error has occurred during rearm process
I still have faith in this concept even if just console so I thank you for any help or time you spend on my office rearm concept.
Well if I have finished my console application I will release the source code to you too since you are the one who find it ...... then you can modify the source code and distribute the application on your own if you have time
Then it won't work as like you said our's is the same. So we need to develop a discussion on how to deal with this single error or see if someone wan't's to try a patch either on it's own or in combination with my rearm concept This is why I was testing so much as to provide info for both are builds and to help both of us Collaboration is our strongest ally
Is using the run key only applicable via C# or can that key at boot trigger .bat? We used runonce with IR4 to installkey.bat after boot. Because at boot is a good idea for most but some people never turn off comp for torrents, etc so wouldn't it be better to either have task or both as to be certain rearm happens? And of course to run OR4.bat or AutoRearm.exe silently is a plus
That sucks that tasks are different for diff OS's but if they don't restart then our concept will fail if dependent on a 30 day schedule unless there was a task as well or task's. So for the runkey to work they'll have to reboot which is a pain
Sounds complicated but I was just thinking do we ever need to really rearm if we restore from rearm. Meaning run out 30 days then restore. No rearm ran just restore Sounds easier and could be done inside the retail nag scenario OfficeRestore ...lol
So what is the minimum exact state office has to be in or do you recommend reinstall? And if they don't restart in 30 days and their in notification what do they do to manually fix that. since reboot would suck to do. Do they just run the .exe and start over?
Edit: So I will install and activate Then back up Then uninstall Then install and apply back up Anything else?
