Another fellow developer I'll download your tool and take look when I set up my fresh operating system.
Thanks for the beautiful icons but unfortunately I can't use them, since the Office logo is copyrighted
I have various M$ logos in mine, a disclaimer should cover it. Shall I write you one up? If it's non-commercial I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem. I'll look this up.
Bummer about not being able to use an Office type icon for it. Still a very useful program. Thanks Again.
The app should be able to download all 38 files, not only 8. (Please include SetupConsumerC2ROLW.exe)
You can't do anything with the 29 DSFT files: those are differential patch files for older office 2010 installs that AFAIK are not used in any way by the setup and are completely useless when the SFT file is up-to-date. The DSFT files appear to be used only when you click Help->Check for updates in the Office starter menu and are automatically downloaded from the click2run server: there are no known ways to tell office to use your local DSFTs unless you redirect click2run to a local web server where you host them. The SetupConsumerC2ROLW.exe files are no longer hosted on the server, trying to download them results in a 404 response. Also redistributing any file from microsoft, even public ones, unless explicitely allowed is a copyright infringement so I can't do that unless the setup was renamed and we can get a new link for it. The tool can update previous office folders so you only need the setup file once, you can keep running the tool on the setup folder and it will download the latest files and delete the old ones.
Thanks for explaining what the .DSFT files were for because to this day I didn't know what they were used for but still kept downloading them incase the were needed by setup when updating my Office Starter folders etc. Great tool BTW
I'm getting constant error. Can't download single file only PackageProperties.xml. setupconsumerc2rolw.exe is manually added in folder v.14.0.6009.1000 with sha1 b16da343d5fa8eb80b2c54bf335362373cfbb86f
to hide Q drive just add this to notepad and save as reg then inport in registry and log off Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoDrives"=dword:00010000
I'm getting this error too. I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that the c2r server doesn't like me; I have trouble downloading the files manually as well.
Can you download the file with a web browser when the tool returns that error? Sometimes the C2R servers are unreachable for hours but it could even be that they also ban some ISPs or countries from downloading.
Berny, thanks for this great program. All the files downloaded perfectly. Just when I try to double click setup nothing happends? Do I miss something? Thanks,
No, the servers at c2r.microsoft.com don't like me. With a web browser, I need to resume the download several times before I can complete it (but it does finish eventually). Could you have your tool continue interrupted downloads? There are a lot of us who would really appreciate that feature, considering those servers are so fickle.
The setup file should show the yellow install window even when there are no other files in the folder: probably something broke in your windows install or an antivirus/firewall is causing trouble. Check if the setup file has a valid digital signature then check the log files it creates in the user profile temp folder (%temp%) that may hint what went wrong during the install.
