I can download with office 2010 offline setup tool the 14.0.7210.5000 files. Do you have install file for this version?
I wanted to follow up with this "weird" issue which, surprisingly, has taken me since near the end of May to figure out. Just in case this rare issue affects anyone else at some point. I spent weeks troubleshooting this strange issue. Problem: Application Virtualization Client service from Office 2010 Click-to-Run (in this case, Starter) was failing to start. Therefore, Office was not working at all for me. Conflict: exFAT. Near the end of May, I added an exFAT partition to my system for a storage drive. This is not a system partition or anything, which is why it seems strange that Office 2010 Click-to-Run's Application Virtualization Client service would even have any need to "touch" this exFAT partition. But anyway, App-V 4.6.x + exFAT = doom Solution: Switched partition back to NTFS and all is well now.
Has anyone managed to get Office Starter working with Windows 10 1809? Even after applying registry hacks, I receive an error message: "Microsoft Office Starter 2010 can't run on Windows. This app may impact PC security or performance. Check for an updated app that runs on this version of Windows."
There is no problem, no need for any "registry hacks" like you said. Everything works and even all functions works without any kind of hacks. Only one thing You need to remember - You have to use a 32-bit version and you must have Windows x86 or x64. For example I use it in W10 1809 x64 Pro. Office 2010 Starter is not available as 64 bit version, and it's not working on my PC with clean install of 1809 x64 (tried both Pro and LTSC). It wasn't working for me even with 1709 without registry hacks WildByDesign provided in this thread on Nov 10, 2017. I havent tested it with 1803, but WildByDesign mentioned he had some problems with it as well.
Someone raised this question several months ago and talk the same as you. Then I tried and found out that the whole thing was wrong. Then I wrote about how to install it. Look for it and don't say no more that it doesn't work. I tried on two computers, no problems. Then there were several people in this forum who installed it and there were no problems. So your story is not true. If Your's don't work, the reason is something else. I understand if all of this had been tested on only one computer, you might think it was a coincidence, but it has been installed on many computers, installed to very different computers and as I have already said - I use it myself, it is installed on my computer and works.
For those having trouble running Office Starter on Windows 10, make sure that the following two updates are installed. click2run2010-kb2598285-fullfile-x86-glb.exe click2run2010-kb2986257-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
kaljukass, venejo, thank you, it worked! After testing this on clean install, I found out it's enough to just apply kb2986257 to be able to start Office and enable updates, and the rest are downloaded automatically.
After some more testing, I found out it's possible to get Office running without installing ANY updates. All that's needed is a checkmark in Advanced Windows Update options - "give me updates for other Microsoft products". D'oh!
Yes, that simply downloads updates for other Microsoft products (Office etc.) all these that you may had and installed manually.
Well, yes, obviously. That was my point. It's just this is much easier than finding out which update is needed, downloading and installing it.
Does anyone have a copy of click2run2010-kb2986257-fullfile-x86-glb.exe As the microsoft downloads are not working. Thanks
