Avira shows the original .exe as a "keygen" However, openDNS reported that there was botnet activity right when I started to try to activate Office...I don't find this to be a coincidence, as there was nothing else running at the time. It was apparently going here: Code: js.tongji.linezing.com I'll report back if another occurrence shows up. For now, Office will have to remain unactivated, unless I confirm that it wasn't this (or the other candidate: HAL 7600).
Hi, I cannot seem to get the toolkit to work on my Solid State Drive When using the toolkit on a laptop with a SSD-drive, the "Information Console" sometimes halts at: Code: Getting Office Configuration Information. --------------------------------------- Backing Up License Info In Case Of Failure. Other times it gives failures in the attempts all the way down to the finish of the batch. Either way, the EZ-activator unfortuneately does not work properly on my system! My system is a IBM T60 with a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate Danish Retail, then updated on Windows Update, and then with a clean install of first the standalone Office 2010 Word, then PowerPoint and last Excel. I have installed nothing else on the system, besides of Comodo Internet Security (which is turned of), and I only run this toolkit after a complete reboot after finished installation of all three programs. This toolkit have worked so many times before, but with a normal (old) harddrive solution in the same T60 laptop. I am of course using the latest toolkit version 2.0.1 I will try a complete reinstall once again tonight, but without Comodo and Windows Updates installed previous of Office 2010, and then I will report back in here.
The backup freeze is a known issue and is apparently IO related. Sometimes it does this (not always). Failed activation may be several things. We are trying to get a beta 2.1 out but Bosh is working on a few more things first.
Wow this time it worked with no problems! Code: Getting Office Configuration Information. --------------------------------------- Backing Up License Info In Case Of Failure. --------------------------------------- Changing any Unactivated MAK Keys to KMS Keys. --------------------------------------- If You Have Starter Subscription It Will Now Use Permanently Activated Key. --------------------------------------- Converting Unactivated, Trial, Or Subscription Retail Versions of Office Into VL. --------------------------------------- Removing Any Unactivated Retail Keys Left Installed After Conversion To VL. --------------------------------------- Attempting To Activate Office 2010 KMS Products. Attempting To Activate Excel. Successfully activated after 1 attempts. Attempting To Activate PowerPoint. Successfully activated after 1 attempts. Attempting To Activate Word. Successfully activated after 1 attempts. --------------------------------------- Installing AutoKMS. --------------------------------------- Office 2010 was succesfully activated. Maybe it works better before installing the updates for windows. I doubt Comodo has had anything to do with it the previous times, because 1) it was turned of, and 2) because I had already tried it without Comodo installed - furthermore you can easily select AutoKMS.exe and KMSEmulator.exe to be trusted files (infact you have to). Anyway, I think you already now about that. Thank you for the script, it helps me a lot when I am testing my systems
You installed Excel, Word and Powerpoint separately? First time I've seen anyone do that (most people use a suite).
This is off topic, but you deserve my honest answer Yes I like to install them as standalone, because when you install suites nowadays you get a lot of other smaller programs sticking to it. These small helper-programs will nest on resources, and complicate things in the working environment itself - hence they will not be very helpful. My goal was to only test Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on a Windows 7 machine, and not all the other features included in a suite as e.g. SharePoint Workspace (formerly named Groove) and other things I don't even know yet. Just like you might want to install an alternative to Windows Live Messenger, because it have become too big and full of features you do not want.
I've actually found individual installs in Office 2007/2010 to use more space as the MSOCache gets more stuff backed up and other things to distinguish them as separate installs. The ideal way is to use ProPlus and set any app/feature you don't want to "Not Available/Installed", also it means only 1 app to activate and leaked MAK's are usually ProPlus. I was curious as I wanted to make sure it didn't detect that as a mistake. I myself have opted for a more minimal OS footprint as I find it can take 2-3 days to install+configure ALL software I have AFTER the OS is installed (yet I never use CS5 and Chrome can open the occasional PDF).
It is supported but Bosh and I also have other responsibilities and lots has been done to V2.1 and there is one more thing Bosh has to do before a beta of 2.1 gets released. Also, I've stopped answering questions like AV stuff as I've answered a lot of them millions of time and lots of other questions can be answered by looking at the readme. I'll be making a set of standards for support in 2.1 final as I don't have time to teach everyone and their mother to exclude their files (especially since all AV have different settings and I only know Norton). Also, many non AV issues that people are posting are targeted with the beta (some of them are rare and intermittant and therefore the BETA will help resolve them. I changed code at fault for many of them but its hard to tell since I have never experienced some of the issues myself or 1 in 10000 times). Not to mention I've worked up a solution for restoring backup after reformat (something no one else has a tool for) and there are a crapload of new features in V2.1. V2.1 may as well be V3 but I'd like to save V3 for 2012 or whatever toolkit, as the feature set will be pretty finalized unless we come up with new hacks for activation.
New to here. Looks like a very useful tools. But I don't quite understand how to use it. I have downloaded office 2010 pro from, I believe, msdn site and tried to install it. It prompt for product key before proceeding further. But this tools seems to me only works after installing the software. So, should I find another office 2010 to download (but where?) or Have I missed out something here?
I'm 99% sure that you have a Retail version of Office. If you don't have a key use the "Check" function in the "Key Management" tab, once you're in the tab: - Select the Retail license type (not Volume) - Select the Office product, which in this case is Pro Plus - Clic the Check button - Copy the key that the toolkit will show in the information console There you go, after installing Office run the EZ-Activator (in the Main tab), but remember to disable the antivirus before runing EZ-Activator, some files might be detected as false positives but don't worry those are safe. Also, if later the Antivirus prompt for AutoKMS.exe or KMSEmulator.exe just add them to the exclusions list as those files are needed to maintain Office activated. Let us know how it went
Nope, it's made to go every 24 hours and done in such a way that it is impossible to miss the task, the side effect is that the task can't be changed because it remakes it every time it runs. This is done to ensure whether you reboot or leave your PC on, that you won't inadvertently get it stuck to go off at 3AM and never have your PC on and 3AM and therefore miss the task.
