    NEWBIE QUESTION
I mean, pressing the "Active" takes some time to get the result.
Doing it every 24 hours, does it slow down my Windows 7 start up?

    OFF TOPIC
Do you know if the mini-KMS Activator v.1.31 does the same thing?

It won't create a slowdown even if it does take a little while.

And mini-kms has something like it but runs 24/7 constantly. My AutoKMS is way more efficient as it only runs once ever 24 hours, and many scripts released try to activate everything (very slow if you have a non-KMS product that requires online activation as it will try to do online activation), where as I specifically only activate KMS products.

99% of the time it takes 1-3 activation attempts to reactivate a product (I've seen 7 as the most only once, never over 7 which is why I recommend 10 as 10+ fails usually means office is screwed up) and if you have just ProPlus or ProPlus+Visio+Project, it won't take long to successfully reactivate.

Witch are the files I should exclude in my NOD32 AV to get this activator works properly?

    Code:
    "C:\Windows\AutoKMS.exe"
    "C:\Windows\KMSEmulator.exe"
Also, I can delete the KMSEmulator.exe? What is it for?

    Thanks!

You should exclude both. And KMSEmulator.exe is the Kms Server Emulator which is needed for this program to function properly.

Excuse my clumsiness if I'm asking about something widely known. If necessary, can anyone direct me to the relevant information? So, here's my query. If I'm not mistaken, there are two possible ways of activating Office 2010. One of them, lasting for only 180 days in a corporate setting, is through a KMS (true or fake) server; the other, permanent one is through a MAK server residing at the Microsoft site. Fortunately, someone came up with an algorithm that usually works for KMS validation, but no-one has, so far, come up with anything resembling success for MAK activation. I guess the diffrence must be the result of the strength in the cypher used by both systems. Be that as it may, can anyone explain what changes (in files and/or registry entries) are effected when a validation key is entered by the KMS server? On the other hand, what changes are effected when a valid MAK key is entered?

A MAK key contacts Microsoft's Activation Server where as KMS can be any random server with the right protocols making it easier to fake where MS server is complety unkown.

Yes, I can see that, but my question hasn't been answered. Here it is again:

The thing with KMS is we have company servers totally independent of MS so people could emulate how they work. We'll never fully understad/emulate MAK (which is normal online activation like any windows product - MAK is just a retail key with 1000's of activations on it, it activates the same way).

We haven't access to how normal activation stuff works and short of breaking into MS HQ we won't. There may be cracks that activate somehow but never a full Activation server unless we get info on real activation servers or MS screws up Sony style with their encryption making it possible to figure out activation responses and make our own.

The good thing about KMS is by nature it is meant to be 100% independent of MS servers so its unlikely MS will ever force KMS online validation since it would defeat the point of KMS.

Thank you, CODYQX4. Your insight is very valuable, but still, no real answer. When a valid KMS key is entered by a real or fake KMS server, which files and/or registry keys are modified? Does anyone really know (outside of Microsoft)?

Not sure. The activation stuff changes the office licensing files when successful activation occurs (which is all encrypted). With the fake KMS server, the keys (as in not the serials but normal KMS servers have codes) are generated by the program. The only thing that changes on our PC's when we activate is the license files like tokens and trusted store and this stuff is encrypted otherwise we could figure out what changes and change it manually.

Right. That's where my question logically led. It would be great to know specifically what changed in each case, and what changes in the case of MAK activation. Equally interesting is to find out exactly why copying the relevant encrypted files from one activated Office in one computer to another identical computer won't activate the Office of the second computer.

Copying does't work as however the info is generated, it is locked to the PC by creating HWID's. I have found out how to restore to same PC after a reformat but there is nothing we can do to put this info to different PC as it's hardware locked.

Yes, that's what I figured. Has anyone figured out how the change of one or two numbers in the serial ID of a hard drive will affect the relevant encrypted activation files? Does it change a specific area in the file(s), or their entire content?

No services and does not run anything 24/7. It's launched by one of 2 tasks in Task Scheduler, which runs AutoKMS which uses KMSEmulator to activate, then both close when done, leaving nothing running afterwards.

It takes 0 resources to have the task as the task scheduler itself is part of windows and always runs, running the tasks when needed.

Notice: Avast 6 beta false postive

Avast 6.0.986 Beta is detecting AutoKMS.exe and KMSEMulator.exe as Win32:Malware-gen

Also, I clicked "Available" on the "Activation" tab next to "Rearm Office 2010:" it said that I had 5 reams left.
But when I installed Auto-Rearm it said that I had 0 reams left.

    Thanks for your work,
    Carlos
