I've just installed O14_RTM_VL.1_RTM_EN and I'm having problems activating it.
I ran EZ activator first, it didn't give any errors. But when I wanted to check status using the tool it says this:

    1. Leave it at "Try To Activate Again" and Open Office and let it sit for 5 minutes, close it, then check again.
    2. If still not activated, try a rearm, and take a few more shots at activation.
    3. If that does not work use the "Delete All License Data" in the Toolkit, then open Any Office app such as word and let it repair and close (It will error out a few times and then go into notifications mode. After you get office in notifications mode close it and try Step 1 again.

Did 1, same. Moved to 2, same. Finally got to 3 and then it said License Data was not deleted.... Opened office, nothing unusual came out. Rechecked status, the same.

I give up. Deleting 2010 and reinstalling 2007 now...

To delete license info you need a capital Y as lowercase or anything else gets interpreted as "no, do not delete".

I installed 2010 again and ran the EZ activator. This time it says Licensed and 180 days remaining. Must be some bug or something what happened earlier. Thanks...

    Hi Cody,

Windows 7 Loader eXtreme Edition v3.503 includes a feature to activate Office 2010, and apparently it works. Take a look.

Is it an actual loader (maybe based on AutoKMS?) or something else? Maybe you can get some ideas form it I don't know!

I'll PM you the link if you like (Is that allowed?)

Good job with the two programs though, looking forward to some UI! I haven't used anything myself yet - I'm waiting to see the best activator - I don't want to have to reinstall everything just because Microsoft fixed the activators.

Hiya I waited another day to check and I am activated with 180 days.
I still don't know if I am volume or retail and if it matters.
So that's it right? I have nothing more to do and can install updates?

Many thanks for your help :worthy:

The EZ-Activator starts AutoKMS at the end and exit, sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes Office 2010 activation gets stuck for some reason.

It's a KMS activator from what I heard.

Yeah you are set for 180 days, you can install AutoKMS if it isn't already installed so you don't have to worry about reactivation.

    Hi Cody,

Great job with your toolkit, keep up the good work!

Just wondering if you have seen the OEM Pre-installation kit for Office currently floating around some torrent sites?
From what I heard, PC manufacturers can install this on their brand new computers and then customers have the option to either purchase a license
to unlock a specific version,(Home & Student, Business or Pro) or use the Office 2010 starer edition for free.

Do you think it's possible (or do you know someone that might be able) to tamper with this OEM edition to create a potential permanent activation?

    Just a thought...

You got a link? Anyway All Retail Office 2010 can use an OEM serial that needs no activation (and I can convert VL to Retail so VL can use this key), but we need the key and the preinstall kit is for including office 2010 on a OEM PC, but I doubt it has this magic key.

I'm unable to post any links yet since I'm a new user and all(20 posts required and 5 for PM)
but if you go to any of the more popular torrent sites and search for "Microsoft.Office.2010.x86.OPK-CRBS"
    you'll find it...

    Cheers!

    Found it and DLing now.

To everyone else, Version 1.4.1 of EZ-Activator was released silently to fix XP compatibility issue with AutoKMS. I don't think that toolkit version will be out for awhile but it will be worth the wait as I've managed to make the backup process much more stable. I am working on dumping the "Registration" key as people with converted/added license may need it, but I've had trouble with it (I made a text replace tool but can't seem to make it run right). this key varies based upon OS 32 or 64 Bit AND if office is 32 or 64 bit so I am trying to automate the way I convert them (Its a matter of key path and changing -0000-0000- on 32 bit office to -0000-1000- for 64 bit office). The replacer works if run manually but not via the toolkit batch. Also I have an essay to write (summer college) and need Excel Retail license to complete the license add function.

Also the first steps in making a GUI are in progress as bosh came up with a mockup interface in C#. It's probably going to be a lot of work to get all the functions working and take a while. The finished GUI will be Version 2. Also I am thinking of merging the EZ-Activator into the toolkit or reusing the code to make the Activator into the app because the Activator is the same as toolkit's functions except automatic based on the PC to make it easy. So it should be easy to make the Activator C# once all the difficult toolkit stuff is done.

    Hi,
I installed a volume copy of office 2010, and in the help i clicked "change product key" and entered the MAK key that is circulating for a while now , the one which ends with "WVY2R". I when i restarted a office app, i got an option to activate online(which previously i didn't get with Volume copy), and when clicked activate it took a while and said Activation Successful.
Also when i checked the activation status it is displayed as Licensed, without any remaining days shown. So my concerns now are:
    1. Is this permanent activation?
    2. Can i turn on Automatic Updates completely without any problems?
    3. Can i backup this license and activate another system offline? If yes, how?

    Thanks in advance:)

Yeah your Office 2010 has no day limit and you should be able to update except for OGA. It is possilbe for OGA/SP1 to blacklist that key because I have the same key as well as numerous others.

You can backup your license using the Toolkit, but it cannot be transfered to a different system, it will only work on that PC as the license is hardware locked.

I'd watch your office 2010 updates because they can block that key as its leaked everywhere. Office 2007 Enterprise you could use a blocked key (as there was no Enterprise activation) But Installing OGA made office nag but it was just an office addin that could be removed.

I've installed the same version as you have with the same MAK key about a month ago now and when I did some research I found out that a MAK key is good for 100 activations and the first 100 users would have a legit copy no matter what.
Although I was sceptical about it, I asked the guy that uploaded the torrent with the MAK key about the 100 activations limit and he said that there is no need to worry as activation gets done on the local side of things and never checks against a Microsoft server. Some people say that somebody has designed a server that mimics the MS activation server and that particular copy of Office checks in with that one. We'll just have to wait and see what happens I suppose. I'll just keep using it, and if something goes wrong we always have Cody's toolkit to reactivate again :p

OK I am pretty much done with 1.4.1 Toolkit and it may drop soon. I have made the backup success rate higher, I was able to restore week old backup on my machine but after a reformat could not get office to take it. Office not only locks your backup to your Hardware but also a CMID (Client Machine ID) which can change even on same HW (Rearm changes this ID).

Since the backup may fail leaving office screwed without a good backup. I have built in a measure to save you from destruction. When Iniitating a Restore, I make a backup called "Temp" in the backup folder, which will be valid, then I restore the backup you choose, then I check to see if it worked (If checking Status says no keys installed it failed). If it fails I try to restore "Temp", and check if "Temp" succeed (Which it should), and post one of two errors, "Failed but fixed" and "Totally screwed" but you should not get the latter as long as nothing interferes with the restore of "temp". I then delete "Temp" after restore finishes.

This is the best I can do unless someone can patch OSPPSVC to always take the backup without marking tampered (As it is this service that screws you over). If someone did this it is likely an activated backup could be taken and used on ANY Hardware or machine.

The toolkit is likely now not to get updates barring bugfixes, someone getting me Retail Excel so I can add that license, or a way to backup "Registration" key and automatically convert it to other architecture (I had a solution but it chokes on the Copyright symbols in the dumped key and when this key is imported that symbol changes to screwed up text.) It is pretty solid now and plans for a GUI C# 2.0 are underway as bosh has made a possible UI for the toolkit, though it is not yet implementing any toolkit functions yet.

Also I am including a readme (There is one in the EZ-Activator) that should answer most questions.
