Short answer, yes. Long answer, it depends. The task reactivates Office every time you boot up your PC, you can uninstall AutoKMS.exe and remember to manually activate every 179 days
I hate to register just to ask a question here, but I did, so no use crying over spilled milk. After trying to activate Professional Plus 64-bit on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, I get an "object reference" error quite similar to the one you've discussed time and time again. Except I'm pretty sure it's not antivirus, since this is a brand-new Windows 7 install, with no antivirus and a recently disabled firewall (just in case). Code: Attempting To Activate Office 2010 KMS Products. Attempting To Activate Professional Plus. Failed To Activate 10 Times. --------------------------------------- Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Well, this is the first time in almost like a year that this problem shows with no AVs in the game. Could you check in the Task Scheduler that KMSEmulator.exe runs when you try to activate (it should run for at least 5-10 secconds if it does not activate Office)? PS: Do you check that Windows Defender did not autoinstall with the updates?
I didn't think updates were enabled, but for whatever reason Windows Defender was sitting around. I disabled it (through the administrator options and every other way I saw) and removed the service from the Services Manager. But the same error appeared. After the error, Visual Studio tried to open a debugger to figure out what was going on. Also, I was using the latest beta (2.1.5 b1)...
Still a no can-do. I'll play around with a couple more settings though. We only got those errors while we change things (like deleting a file) while debugging. It's very weird that you get all of those errors, as they seem like there's something interfiering with the Toolkit's actions, so my guess is that is has to do with your setup. Where did you get the W7 iso? Or the Office iso? I really can't think of anything else right now
so i have downloaded the new version and i am unable to open it, every time i try to open the file i get a pop up box saying it has stopped working and i can either close the program or check online for a solution. Can anyone shed some light on what i am doing wrong here?
Huh, that's kinda funky. The version of Windows 7 is from a very reputable source (*coughpiratebaycough*) but I'm a student and am thus entitled to an actual three-computer license of Windows 7 Pro, so that's the version I've been using. My Office install came from Microsoft themselves, their Professional Plus download. I grabbed it because it's the only 64-bit compatible suite, although if bad comes to worse I might just try something more mundane.
Sorry, but I'm not sure about what could this be. Do you have the .NET Framework 3.5 installed? Mmm, it's really weird. Can you try with the 2.1.4? The link is in the first post.
Success! I was screwing around on AutoKMS and I'll give you what I did, along with the results. Hopefully in some small way this'll help you guys. I enabled the hidden Administrator account, logged in to it, tried to activate from there. No luck. I disabled "Change KMS PID on failure." I got an error immediately on both my original admin account, and the true Administrator one, after doing that. I re-enabled "Change KMS PID" and got the same instant message. I restarted my computer and tried to activate again. It said the KMSEmulator.exe program couldn't be run. I found KMSEmulator.exe in the Processes of the task manager and (tried to) kill it. Then I tried activating again. Success.
Thanks for the detailed process you followed to get successful activation. I have no idea what could cause this, maybe CODYQX4 has a clue
If KMSEmulator.exe is running in a screwed up state (don't know how), the PID change could fail. I change PID by editing the memory of KMSEmulator, and given I start it in EZ-Activator, it should be running fine. Error is because it isn't running fine or running at all, not sure why.
AutoRearm won't have problems KMS activation will Odd's are you haven't found "update" that killed KMS/office Exceptions must be created for what is blocked AV turned off maybe and firewall exception Sometimes with 2010 a reinstall is best then after clean uninstall/install then try EZ-activator again
