If you can't bypass the antivirus protection, then there's no much to do. I don't know if starting windows in save mode would allow you to get the antivirus not starting
Super Off-Topic so please don't banish me from the group. I did contact the Webmaster ages ago, but no response. I tried to upload my Avatar, as I have done numerous times in other groups, but every time I try at MDL I am told "upload failed". And I reduced the size about as much as physically possible. Do I need a Secret Handshake?
And so I read in the "how-to". I just downsized mine to 80X80 and a meager 17k. Yours, however, is a healthy 100px × 96px and visibly more robust. In comparison, mine kind of shouts "Made in Somalia". (figured I couldn't anger anyone with my Somalia analogy, since the whole world seems to be rightly pissed off with their antics)
You said you couldn't figure it out and posted as such...lol Yen gave me and canouna bigger avatar for our efforts here!
Now that answers my question as to why I could not figure out how to upload the same size avatar that I have on OCN and several other groups. Not a problem. I have done too much in life to have an ego problem or ogle at titles like Global Moderator and the like. For me, such tripe has no meaning. For some others it can be quite important. I just wondered why I was having trouble with an avatar the size of which is acceptable elsewhere. Thanks for the explanation and, more importantly, for all your assistance on more important matters.
I lived in Asia for so many years that I tend to speak indirectly and metaphorically - and as a result am often misunderstood by those who prefer blunt-force trauma. If one receives a larger, more beautiful avatar for his contributions to the site, I can certainly accept and appreciate that fact. From what I have seen here, you sir really do just that! P.S. I often joke a lot and that really gets me in trouble on forums until people get to know me. Consider me to be quite the clown. One thing you can be sure of is that I never intentionally set out to hurt or insult someone. And if I do, well then I fess up to it and apologize. Yep, that would surely be me. Btw, MDL is one helluva forum!
hi guys, i don't want to sound rude but this is quite urgent as i need office working again asap... i had office home and student installed and activated with your product. Now, i thought id be clever and try and install the publisher trial which I would then be able to activate and use also. Following this, the whole suite stopped functioning and after trying several things I could not get it going again. I then used system restore to go back before i installed publisher and fair enough all the programs went back to how they were with just home and student installed but when i opened them the top of the window says (Unlicensed product) and shortly after an error appears saying "Office has encountered a problem with liscesing and needs to close.) I press ok and it vanishes. So then I open your tool once more and press EZ-Activator but I get: Could not access KMSEmulator path set in Settings, using default installation path. Failed to start C:\Windows\KMSEmulator.exe I have checked and the file still exists and is already on my exceptions list in my AV. Can you please help me restore my office
is this whats supposed to happen, or did i do something wrong when i initially installed and ran the ez-activator?
Well I'm hoping EZ-Activator can give insight by its output. The error you showed looks like KMS activation is failing for some reason. Do you have AutoKMS installed? Post the output of "Check Activation Status" here so I can see it.
Probably the biggest benefit of a new KMS tool would be to Windows x64 users. I use the PID change technique on Office and Phazor started this, but his tool is 32 bit only, meaning as of now x64 Windows users have no tool to help them if they get the dreaded persistent fail. There is no ETA for the tool, as I'm working on toolkit first at unpredictable times... and very busy this week.
If KMSEmulator.exe can't be started then anything you do will work. You're the one that knows what's installed in your computer. As a hint, sometimes adding the file to the exceptions is not enough, you have to make sure the antivirus protection (this could be several services like in eset smart secutiry) is disabled to let KMSEmulator run properly.
