Managed to integrate SP1 into Office 2010 via the "Add Updates" feature, then EZ-Activate. Nothing is broken, as nothing important has changed. I can restore old backups and check rearms so AutoRearm should be fine. So simply integrate SP1 into your installers for good measure, and rest free that SP1 brings you (and me) no problems.
They have the same version and dates (early 2010). Even in M2 they are the same. It was nothing more than a bundle of updates, nothing activation. The death of OGA and no issues with SP1 means we likely have Office 2010 solid, even if we can't use a permanent activator (but make it run without user intervention).
Ok very easy to integrate SP1 in the <Office 2010 PP IT VL x32 setup> folder and in the <Office 2010 PP IT VL x64 setup> folder via the OTK 2.1.6 Customize setup. Also made the related iso, now the x86 Office2010 iso with the integrated sp1 is 1216MB from the 726MB without SP1.
How can I integrate silently (in an elegant way..) the Ez-Activator into Office 2010 SP1 ISO? I mean, running this command: Code: "Office 2010 Toolkit.exe" /EZ-Activator /Log as it was an updated MSP at the end of the setup? Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks a lot!
I have a "little" problem, when installing SP1 it states that "ProPlusrWW.msi" file is missing under "\MSOCache" folder and it fails instalation. Tried that on my desktop and my laptop. Office 2010VL Cody's activated . Thanks indeed for any help!!!
Did you ever delete the MSOffice folder? it should be C:\MSOCache by default. I had the same issue come up, however i did not use cody's method to activate. What i did was put in the office 2010 pro plus disc into the dvd drive and browse for the "ProPlusrWW.msi file through there, it asked a second time for another file and i just directed it to the dvd drive again and it installed and works fine for me now.
Just wish to inform that Office 2010 Toolkit and EZ-Activator 2.1.6 works like a charm after a fresh install of Office 2010 Professional Plus with SP1 integrated. Thanks CODYQX4
Just to add my experience and feedback if it will help here - Success for me on a VMWARE 7.1.4 machine running Win 7 PRO SP1 x64, fully up to date. Office 2010 with VISIO 2010 too. Running OTK version 2.1 Yes! 2.1...much older version I know. I downloaded the updates since I have 7 other PCs to update and manually installed them, first Office SP1 then VISIO SP1. No problems. Everything updated correctly and runs fine. Even after total shut downs, reboots, etc. Now, the question I have is...should I use a more current version? Just to protect against future problems? These are VM machines so I can always go back to a previous snapshot.
You just use toolkit to do "Add Updates" button with SP1 exe. It just runs SP1 with the switches needed to integrate/extract, which are the same as Office 2007.
I don't think my dumb ass grasped what you just said. Does that mean the "Add Updates" buttom would install sp1 into existing Office 2010 installation or actually turn the Office 2010 copy into an sp1 integrated one?
Integrates it, so if you install the copy it installs SP1 automatically. To install in existing install you just run the exe like normal.
Thanks so much for your kind response. I've already fix it doing something very similar to your advice. Kind regards!
